Toastmasters Pioneer Club 17

Pioneer 17 had a wonderful meeting last night - as always of course. But it was further enhanced by our two guests. Parrish brought her sister who we haven't seen before, and as a special treat we welcomed Simon Walliker from the Frankston TMC in Australia - a bit to the SE of Melbourne. What a delight to meet a Toastmaster from the 'ends of the Earth'!!! Our guests added immeasurably to our meeting, and we were enriched by SImon's astute evaluation of a speech that was - charitably - first draft.
Next time I'm in Oz, I'm off to Frankston to return the visit!

Here is a complete tutorial on what NOT to say in a job interview... (Yes it's comedy - and the lady who did one this has many more wonderful 'Southern' clips.)

The Area 51 contest was held today. A wonderful time. Pioneer had 7 members present - an excellent showing! Three of us competed. The sharp eyed among us will realize that Sarah from Woodman is holding BOTH First Place trophies! What a treat to see so many fine efforts by Toastmasters from all four Area 51 clubs. A great day indeed..

This person is wonderfully funny. Here she talks about how awful many meetings are. Not for Toastmasters! We learn how to begin and end meetings -and how to use them effectively. So if this humor looks like your reality - come see us. You won't be sorry!

Guess who worked on the design of this 1950 era one man flyer? (Hint) Why is this in the Pioneer 17 page?

Pioneer 17 had an outstanding meeting last week! After two fine speeches we had a rip roaring, rib tickling Impromptu session that Ruth led for us. Everyone learned interesting facts and everyone had a great time. Hope to see toy all this week!
