Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) has awarded Jameson Camp a grant totaling $487,500. The funding will help Jameson Camp strengthen programs serving young people in central Indiana and build the organizational capacity needed to deepen its impact over the next several years.
IYI made the grants in connection with Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI), an initiative Lilly Endowment Inc. launched in 2023. The initiative seeks to help youth-serving organizations working throughout the state improve their abilities to promote the academic, physical, and social well-being of young people, ages five through 18.
With this support, Jameson Camp will expand capacity by supporting our year-round staff, continuing year-round and summer camp support, investing in staff training, and building awareness in the community. The work is expected to help underserved youth in the community by providing accessible, impactful, outdoor experiences.
“We are grateful for this investment in Jameson Camp and in the young people we serve,” said David Ramsey, Executive Director of Jameson Camp. “This grant will allow us to strengthen our year-round environmental education and summer camp programs, our team, and our partnerships that help youth thrive.”
Jameson Camp is one of 168 youth-serving organizations awarded SYPI grants totaling more than $40 million.
