Helpings of Hope

Helpings of Hope Helpings of Hope seeks to introduce new perspectives on food and dining, community, and developing self-sufficient lifestyles.

Helpings of Hope exists to help families and individuals who are facing food insecurity in the greater Indianapolis area. Through raising awareness, education, and practical initiatives, Helpings of Hope intends to significantly decrease food insecurity, while at the same time contributing to a positive concept of community. The Community Cafe will be Helpings of Hope’s primary practical example o

f how to creatively address food insecurity in an urban setting. By introducing a new and unique way of dining along with a progressive way of meeting the hunger needs of those below the poverty level, the Community Cafe will set itself up as a center for resources for the food insecure, a place where complementary organizations can interact and more efficiently cooperate, and a facility where patrons can gain a greater understanding of how to maintain a healthy diet, reduce food waste, and support local food production.

🌱 This is what it takes to Grow Hope.

Behind every fresh vegetable is a story of preparation, planning, and investment.

The photos below show just a few of the resources that help make our harvests possible—from healthy soil and seed starting to growing spaces, cold storage, and farm infrastructure.

These behind-the-scenes investments help us grow fresh food for our farm stands, community partners, and neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Your support helps make this work possible:

💚 $25 helps support seeds and planting supplies.

💚 $50 helps maintain growing spaces and irrigation.

💚 $100 helps strengthen farm infrastructure that supports larger harvests.

Every gift helps us increase food production, expand access to fresh vegetables, and build a stronger, healthier community.

Together, we're Growing Food. Growing Community. Growing Hope.

**A Message from our Executive Director, Kitty**

Do you love a good story?

The kind that draws you in so completely that you can imagine yourself walking alongside the characters, experiencing every challenge, every victory, and every moment of hope?

Eleven years ago, I began the story of Helpings of Hope. Since then, I've had the privilege of walking alongside incredible people, growing food, building community, and witnessing lives transformed through hope.

This June, I invite you to become part of our story.

Over the next few weeks, we'll take you behind the scenes at Helpings of Hope Farms and Community Gardens. You'll meet the Volunteers, Gardeners, and Team Members who make this work possible. You'll see what's growing in our fields and discover how your support helps us grow more than vegetables—we grow community and hope.

Then, on July 18, we invite you to experience the harvest firsthand at our Harvest Under the Lights Farm-to-Table dinner. Together we'll gather beneath the glow of Edison lights, enjoy a chef-curated meal featuring vegetables grown at Helpings of Hope Farms, and celebrate all that we've accomplished together.

Growing Food. Growing Community. Growing Hope.

Will you join us on this journey?

In Gratitude,

Kitty Beckman, Executive Director
