Today, we had the opportunity to attend a job fair at Camp Atterbury and connect with members of the Indiana National Guard.

The men and women who serve our country bring qualities that translate directly into the skilled trades: discipline, teamwork, reliability, leadership, and a willingness to work hard and learn.

As they transition into civilian careers or look for new opportunities, we want them to know that the union roofing and waterproofing industry has a place for them.

A career in the trades offers more than a job. It provides hands-on training, a clear career path, good wages and benefits, and the opportunity to build a future while continuing to be part of a team.

We are especially looking for people with experience in:

* TPO
* PVC
* EPDM
* Built-up roofing
* Insulation installation
* Tear-off and reroof work
* Basic roofing power tools

Experienced roofers can earn **up to $30.15 per hour**, and some contractors may pay above scale depending on experience.

Class of 2026:

Today is a proud day for Roofers Local 119.

Seventeen apprentices officially became Journeymen. This achievement represents years of hard work, sacrifice, classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and a commitment to mastering our trade.

No matter where you come from, earning a journeyman card is something that must be earned. It takes determination, discipline, and pride in your craft. Today, 17 members reached that milestone, and they should be proud of what they have accomplished.

As you move into the next stage of your career, remember that the future of our union depends on skilled workers who are willing to lead, mentor, and set the standard for those coming behind them. Continue learning, continue growing, and continue representing Roofers Local 119 with pride.

The strength of our union is built by hardworking men and women who show up every day, take pride in their work, and look out for one another. Today, our Local became stronger.
