Daub Park Fall Migration Birding
Saturday September 19, 8:00–9:30am

Many birds migrate through our area as they head south for winter. We'll be looking for warblers, song birds, etc. (about 100 species of birds have been seen or heard here). Learn where they are headed and why. For novices to dedicated birders. Learn how to ID birds, and how to use binoculars like a pro.
Bring: Binoculars or share ours. Dress for the weather & closed shoes. Minors should bring an adult.
Leaders: 1) Rob Ripma, Nutty Birder (NuttyBirder.com) and owner and trip leader for Sabrewing Nature Tours (www.sabrewingtours.com) 2) Amy Hodson, birder and bird photographer

Notes:
• Programs are family friendly, but kids must be with their adults. Most programs require quiet focus for at least one hour, so please use your judgment for the benefit and enjoyment of all attendees.
• Eco-walks involve a bit of gentle, medium-paced walking and more standing in place. Trails are packed dirt, grass, or boardwalks, with mostly gradual slopes, and could accommodate a wheelchair in most areas.
• All programs are outdoors and exposure to the elements is involved. Please dress appropriately. There are no indoor facilities. A liability waiver will be provided for all participants to sign. For last-minute extreme weather cancellations, updates will be sent via text message to those who have signed up and provided a cell phone.

Citizens Temporarily Changing Disinfectant in Water
Few Customers Will Notice Slight Taste and Odor in Water

INDIANAPOLIS- Starting Friday, January 30, some Citizens Energy Group customers may notice a slight change to the taste or smell of their tap water due to a change in disinfectant from chloramine to free chlorine. The change is conducted annually as preventative maintenance to assure the quality of our drinking water. This process has been practiced for more than 20 years and is commonly used throughout the drinking water industry. This year’s maintenance will conclude in March.

Some customers may notice a temporary chlorine or “swimming pool” smell in their water. During this time, tap water is still safe to drink and meets all regulatory requirements. Customers conducting dialysis treatment or using reverse osmosis systems should verify their filters are working appropriately for the type of disinfectant used. Customers with aquariums or sensitive plant species may need to take steps to remove the disinfectant prior to use.

For more information, contact Citizens Energy Group at 924-3311 or click here to watch an educational video about the free chlorine process.

Things are moving forward at IndyGo, and maybe not for the better, at least, for our part of town. IndyGo is proposing eliminating a section of Bus route 27, which runs from St. V to downtown. Currently the stretch does an S curve up Ditch, along 79th Street to Hoover and down. This would remove stops essential for some riders that live in Greenbriar, Meridian Woods, King Estates and the Delaware Trails. This will diminish access to our part of town. Now is the time to go to IndyGo and voice your concern:
