Today, we turned off the lights at The Gifted Gown for the last time. â¤ď¸
The racks are empty. The space is clean. Every dress, every pair of shoes, every accessoryâevery beautiful piece that was entrusted to usâhas been donated to other organizations that will continue the work that has meant so much to us.
And somehow, that makes saying goodbye a little easier.
For so many years, this space held much more than gowns. It held excitement, laughter, tears, hugs, confidence, friendships, stories and some truly unforgettable moments. We had the privilege of watching people walk through our doors and leave standing a little taller and feeling a little more beautiful.
To every person we had the honor of serving: thank you for allowing us to be part of your story.
To every person who donated a dress, shoes, jewelry, time, money, resources or simply shared our mission with someone else: thank you for believing in us.
To our volunteers, community partners, supporters, friends and everyone who helped us along the way: thank you for carrying this mission with us.
The Gifted Gown may no longer have a physical space, but what happened inside these walls will live far beyond them. Thousands of gowns came through our doors, but the real gift was always the people.
And now, the pieces that remain are beginning a new chapterâgoing into the hands of organizations that will continue helping others feel seen, celebrated and beautiful. That is exactly where they belong.
So today, we cleaned the space, took one last look around, turned off the lights and closed the door.
Not with sadness for what is ending, but with overwhelming gratitude for what we were able to build together.
Thank you, Indianapolis. Thank you to every donor. Thank you to every volunteer. Thank you to every community partner. And most of all, thank you to every person who trusted The Gifted Gown to be part of a special moment in their life.
It has been one of the greatest honors of our lives. â¤ď¸
The lights may be off, but the love, impact and legacy of The Gifted Gown will keep shining.
With all our love and gratitude,
Julia & Jalysa
