I have declared a Statewide Disaster Emergency to strengthen Indiana’s response to the widespread damage caused by this week’s severe storms, flooding, tornadic activity, and derecho.

This declaration mobilizes state agencies, unlocks emergency resources and gives us additional tools to support local response and recovery efforts.

Hoosiers’ safety is my top priority. Our state response is fully mobilized, resources are moving where they’re needed, and we will continue working around the clock to support every impacted community.

Update: we've got 0 backpacks left, each one filled with school supplies for kids heading back to school. No form, no questions, no qualifying. If your kids could use one, come by and grab what you need.

Today our friends put their listening skills, shape recognition, color identification, and focus to the test during a lively game of Colors & Shapes Bingo! 🔺🟦🟡 From matching shapes to cheering on their classmates, every round was filled with excitement and learning.

At Little Scholars, we believe the best learning happens when children are actively engaged, having fun, and building confidence through play-based experiences.

The Indy pools are open

Thankfully, the rain has finally gone away, which means more pools are opening! However, the heavy rain earlier in the week still impacted several pools. The good news is that the forecast for this weekend and next weekend looks good, so we anticipate that those remaining pools will open in early June. Please note that Thatcher Park's indoor pool will be closed on Sunday for training. Visit parks.indy.gov/programs/poolsandsplashpads for hours and more information!
*Update: Due to a minor issue, Riverside Park's pool will not be open this weekend. We expect it will open in the coming days.
