I Love Julia Foundation, Inc. Our mission is to provide housing and support for disabled and homeless U.S. Military Veterans. Our History

The concepts for I Love Julia Foundation, Inc.

(ILJF) were conceived by Co-Founder & CEO Sam Bump Carson along with his grandmother, The Late Hon. Congresswoman Julia M. Carson, shortly before her passing in December 2007. The words, “I Love Julia,” inscribed atop a red heart-shape pendant are a symbol that Congresswoman Carson chose to represent her lifetime of public service and love for the communities she served, and as the origin of ILJF’

S “Heart & Ribbon” logo. The Foundation was incorporated in the State of Indiana on July 8, 2008, and received its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS later that same year. Our Mission

The primary mission of ILJF is to help provide access to housing and supportive services for disabled and homeless U.S. Military Veterans, and their families. We seek to accomplish this goal through collaborating with government agencies and other organizations that specialize in connecting our people with the information, resources, and support they need to be successful. Additionally, ILJF partners with various entities to help eliminate blight in neighborhoods by adopting blighted properties and developing them into desirable places to live and work.
