Our Mission Moments celebrate Hoosiers whose lives have been positively impacted by the Indiana Bar Foundation's programs.

Emersen Kolb is an alum from both Fishers High School’s We the People, and Miami University’s Mock Trial programs. She attends The University of Cincinnati’s College of Law, where she is currently pursuing her interests in litigation and trial work.

Emersen credits her current interest in law to her participation in both We the People and Mock Trial across her educational journey. During high school, Emersen described We the People as a program that sparked her initial interest in law school.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) give organizations and individuals the convenience of contributing to non-profits strategically. The Indiana Bar Foundation recognizes the impact of DAFs on charitable giving. The 2026–2027 Indiana High School Mock Trial case has officially been released, and team registration is NOW OPEN!

This year’s case, State of Indiana v. Jules Murphy, challenges students to unravel a homicide where the evidence isn’t quite as straightforward as it seems.

The Murphys’ African Grey parrot has a talent for repeating human speech—and a fondness for phrases picked up from Law & Order. Could Poll’s words reveal what happened that night, or are they simply echoes of something heard before?
