It all started in 2001 when a group of 10 friends ventured off into the wilderness for a weekend camping trip (affectionately known as BDCT) to escape the monotony of their daily lives. The trip was so much fun that they decided it needed to be an annual event. They all would commit one weekend a year to getting together, reliving their glory days, and acting like they were 18 again. As the years passed, the event became larger and larger. The original 10 friends brought some of their other friends, and those friends brought even more friends. As more time went by, the event started to create its own culture that transcended the individuals attending, and truly took on a life of its own. In 2006, Ryan Allen, one of the original 10 friends was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He battled the disease for nearly 18 months before taking his last breath on May 29, 2008. From that point forward the BDCT would never be the same. The founding members of the trip decided to honor their friend and everyone that has been affected by cancer. They transformed the trip into an opportunity to help all those that are struggling with the disease. Allen Charitable Endeavors (ACE) is a charitable organization that is all about good times, good friends, and doing something that is truly... well... good.
