Ken was a very active Freemason, having been raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on March 22, 1956. He was a thrice Past Master of 3 different Lodges, Pentalpha 564 in 1999, Southport Lodge #270 in 2006 and Bartimaeus UD 2006-2007. Ken was a member of Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Mooresville York Rite bodies, and the Sahara Grotto.

He was a member of Indianapolis Chapter DeMolay as a youth and served as Master Counselor in 1952. He was awarded the Degree of Chevalier. Ken had the opportunity to serve as an Advisor when the Indianapolis Chapter was relocated to Southport Lodge. In November of 2024, he was invested the DeMolay Legion of Honor.

He was often recognized for his service to Masonry, including receiving the Meritorious Service Award from the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and received the Order of Service of Masonry Award.

Brother Ken's contribution to Indiana Freemasonry cannot be overstated. His mentorship and Masonic knowledge was invaluable to our craft.
Brother Ken set the bar for Ritual, floor work and presentation. Needless to say a tribute to his Masonic accomplishments could fill a book.

Fish Fry Chairman Brother Sec. Paul Ney PM and WM Bobby Sutton would like to thank all the Southport members, Jobs Daughters, DeMolay, Tall Cedars, friends and family who came out to work and support our Lodge for a very successful 2026 Fish Fry.
Your hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm turned a busy 3 days into a wonderful community event. We truly appreciate everyone who pitched in to fry, serve, and clean up. Events like this remind us how fortunate we are to have such an amazing Masonic family. And now let's look forward a even more successful 2027 next year.
