The Sun is shining.
Fresh morning dew clings to the railheads,
The Fire' s been stoked,
Steam is buikding nicely in the boiler.

That means its TRAIN SHOW DAY!

Come join us today at 10am in Garfield Park Burrello Family Center - Indy Parks and Recreation just down from Pleasant Run Parkway and the Railroad tracks.

Early riser? Looking for more to do?
Check out the Garfield Park Farmers Market before we open or see the animal display at 11am!

Then come by our clubhouse after we wrap the show and hang with us this afternoon!

Need EVEN MORE trains? The Indiana Live Steamers are running until 4pm today, giving you plenty of time to shop our 50+ tables, see our operating layouts, and then ride their train as well!

Climb aboard, It's going to be a great day!

After you visit our show at Garfield Park, take a trip a little further South and go for a ride with the Live Steamers! (or ride with them first and then come visit us, we aren't picky.)

This Saturday 10/3 we will have a special run from 12-4pm as a part of the park’s Autumn Festival. Tickets are $4/ride, the ride is typically 25minutes. Don’t wait until the last minute!

Over the last couple of days, a Facebook Account has been replying to some of our older posts claiming to sell an "alumni" t-shirt. We are not currently selling ANY T-Shirts and these posts are scams. While I am working on getting these squashed, if you come across others; please do not respond to that person. Feel free to report them to Facebook as many different ways as you feel appropriate. Thank you, and we will see you in October at our Garfield Park show!

While many of us spent the evening playing with explosives in a thunderstorm for America's 250th Birthday, may we present to you a mockup of a potential 1976 Bicentennial paitnscheme.

During the 1970s, the Southern Ry might have been a major stock holder and financial backer of the NWR, as the Naptown & White River was able to provide a major speedway into Chicago at a time when the Southern's major competitor, the L&N had them otherwise trapped south of the Ohio. During that time, the NWR's locomotive aquisitions likely would have followed Southern standards, including this Long Hood Forward, High Short Hood Sd40-2s. The SD models were brand new in 1972 and this unit may well have left EMD in this paintscheme.
..I'm going to have to paint this someday, aren't I...
