Happy Friday, Community!

We are still stocking the East 38th Street Library Branch with food donations and could really use your help to stock next week. We currently only have $300 in our PayPal, CashApp and Venmo to shop but we usually spend $400-$600 each week.

We welcome food drop-offs for this location but please keep in mind we do not have access to refrigeration so only non-perishables please! Swipe through our pics to get an idea of items.

And our CashApp, PayPal, and Venmo are ALWAYS open (links in bio)

We did our weekly dropoff last week at the East 38th Street Library and look what we were greeted with. Stocked shelves! These shelves are typically bare when we come in so that means folks are dropping off the goods 🫶🏾🫶🏾. Please continue to do so as it helps us A LOT.

You can dropoff during regular branch hours. This location can only accept non-perishables as there is no refrigeration. No idea what to dropoff? Swipe through our pics to get an idea.

Happy Tuesday Community!

Our inactivity on social media does not mean we are not working. We are always working for Community!

We are still stocking the E 38th Street Library pantry every Monday. We unfortunately can no longer offer perishable food items, per Indianapolis Marion County Public Library administration, so just non perishable food items if you’re doing a dropoff!

Speaking of dropoffs, we could really use your help! Staple pantry goods are what we’re going for here. Swipe through our pics to get an idea of what we need. Items can be dropped off during regular library hours.

Our CashApp, Venmo, and PayPal are always open for donations

3 years ago we held our first pantry service in response to the government shutdown. Since then we have experienced a lot of changes and learned A LOT of lessons but our commitment to community remains the same.

We’ll be sharing what we’ve been up to & our future plans in the next couple weeks. In the meantime our CashApp, PayPall, & Zelle are always open. Please continue to support us as we continue our mission of providing for those in need, No Questions Asked.

We are still here.
We are still working.
We are still dreaming up a society where we are no longer needed.

In love & solidarity,
NQAFP

It’s Giving Tuesday and we need you to pull up with us.

Last week we redistributed $5,000 to community groups to support residents living in food apartheids, including undocumented folks and those who’ve been released from jail recently.

Our goal for December is $10,000.

09/20/2021

The No Questions Asked Food Pantry has been a critical resource to the Indy area for over two years, supplying much needed food, resources, and community to those most in need, and doing so with the dignity of those served being our highest priority.

Earlier this summer, we attempted to negotiate the use of space of St. Alban’s on the far Eastside (46th & Emerson) in order to best serve those in need. After touring the space with a community liaison, it was initially agreed that the pantry would transition into that space.

Shortly after touring, core members of NQAFP met with the church leadership, who expressed anti-homeless, pro-police, and anti-Black microaggressions during a conference call. We came away from the call feeling uncertain about what the future of the pantry in that space might be and concerned about the integrity of the pantry if a partnership were to form.

Since that time, leadership has declined to host the pantry, citing that they need more time to form relationships before hosting this initiative. This decision was handed down after we were told yes and had arranged to have our full pantry moved into the St. Alban’s space, where it still remains.

As Black women and femmes, we recognize when white stagnancy is weaponized, and while we will continue to search for space for the pantry to operate, we also make the following call to action for St. Alban’s and the community:

1. Any community partners should immediately withdraw from the St. Alban’s space with notice.
2. St. Alban’s must commit to community canvassing in their neighborhood over the next quarter, where they intentionally seek out opine from their neighbors on needed resources.
3. The priest of St. Alban’s steps down and the board make bylaws regarding their vote public.
4. St. Alban’s must commit to not hosting orgs with majority white staff without intentional canvassing and opine from their neighbors.

It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win.

In the meantime our CashApp, Venmo, & PayPal are always open (links below) & a huge thank you to those who sent funds in August. It is greatly appreciated as we will need funds when we resume service. Our wishlist is not back up as we do not have a location to send packages or store them, BUT SOON!
