New England Region of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurses Society The New England Chapter of the WOCN is an association of WOC/ET Nurses, a division of the National Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society

Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurses practice in a variety of settings, and offer a tremendous amount of technical assistance, comfort and support to patients and their families. They are trained to address the physical, emotional and social issues of patients with ostomies, stomas, acute and chronic wounds, and urinary and f***l incontinence.

Nursing was left out of the Department of Education’s definition of ‘professional degree’ programs, significantly limiting federal loan support for graduate nursing students—but the fight is not over!

"We had a small but mighty gathering of the Southern Maine WOC Nurses facilitated by Joanna Norton. We had an in-depth tour of the Mölnlycke factory in Brunswick, Maine. They are putting on an 138 million dollar expansion to the factory. The foam products made here are distributed to 43 different countries! Our vendors support what we do. Take time to pick their brains about the products you use everyday!"
