Beverly and her husband have called their home theirs for 50 years. But after Beverly retired, keeping up with home maintenance became more difficult.

With less income, the cost of repairs and everyday expenses felt out of reach. That changed when Beverly connected with Home Repairs for Good.

Today, support from donors helps homeowners like the Douglas family stay safe, comfortable, and in the homes they’ve called their own for decades.

Kyla had volunteered with us before, but last year was her first time taking part in our annual Fall Repair Fest!

As a civil engineer, Kyla loves that she gets to work in the same neighborhoods where she also volunteers. It serves as a reminder that “we are all a bigger part of something.”

This project was special for a few reasons! Not only was the homeowner able to come outside and thank the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI) volunteers, but these volunteers truly understand the mission behind Home Repairs for Good’s work.

FHCCI works to make sure people have access to affordable, accessible housing to help build strong and fair communities across Indiana. That mission aligns closely with our work to help older homeowners and people with disabilities stay safely in their homes.

🍂 Come join us for Home Repairs for Good’s sixth annual Fall Repair Fest presented this year by CareSource!

Volunteers will be helping clear yards and gutters, remove debris, and complete minor repairs and other projects for 10+ older homeowners before winter arrives.

Rachel had faith that we would reach our $50K match by the end of the year, but she was amazed by how quickly our community came together to make it happen.

We’re excited to share that Home Repairs for Good has received a $40,000 grant from The Indianapolis Foundation to help provide critical bathroom repairs for older adults in need.

This support will help us act quickly when a toilet fails, pipe bursts, or new mobility restrictions now demand a more accessible shower for older homeowners. Thank you to the Indianapolis Foundation for investing in this work and in Indianapolis.
