One of the great Thanksgiving traditions is the annual Drumstick Dash, winding through Forest Hills. The course runs through Winthrop, Forest Lane, and Guilford Avenues, before turning onto College Avenue to the west. A great showing by this year’s runners. Happy Thanksgiving!

Forrest Hills held its annual Halloween Party this weekend, the oldest continuously held neighborhood event in Indianapolis. It was a beautiful day to spend in and with the neighborhood.

Big thanks to all the volunteers who contributed their time, and all the neighbors who brought treats for everyone to enjoy.

The event isn’t possible without the help of a few specific people, namely and who planned and executed the event - and - and for the hay rides around the neighborhood.

There were so many great costumes but a crowd favorite was the Home Alone burglars in the last photo.

We had another amazing Forest Hills Summer Picnic this past weekend! Thank you to all who joined us, all those who volunteered, and a big thanks to all of our neighbors who brought food and drinks as well.

Special thanks to neighborhood President who is the uncompromising engine of Forest Hills. Finally, thank you to and for sharing their yard with the Forest Hills kids - the water slide was used in unprecedented numbers this year.

I would like to decorate this silence,
but my house grows only cleaner
and more plain. The glass chimes I hung
over the register ring a little
when the heat goes on.
I waited too long to drink my tea.
It was not hot. It was only warm.
