Founded in 1967, the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA) is the only national professional organization dedicated to the practice of voice writing, offering:
* Support and benefits to its members,
* Certification,
* Conferences,
* Newsletters. The NVRA offers several levels of membership. Court reporters using either voice or stenographic methods may become general memb
ers of NVRA. Members of the armed forces who are practicing Verbatim Reporters receive military member status. We also welcome students of court reporting as student members. Any vendors or other individuals who are interested in promoting the profession are invited to become associate members.
