Strengthening Youth, Families, and Community. La Plaza is the longest standing Latino nonprofit in Central Indiana, established in 1971 as El Centro Hispano.

The center was established to address the needs of the growing Hispanic community in Central Indiana. In 2004, the Hispanic Education Center, FIESTA Indianapolis, and El Centro Hispano merged into La Plaza Inc., bringing together three separate long-standing resources and services into one organization to provide better and more efficient support to the Latino community of Central Indiana. Today, La Plaza serves as the trusted liaison between Latinos and the larger Indianapolis community.

Our youngest community members deserve to be celebrated too. 🌟👧🏽👦🏽 This year's FIESTA Indianapolis will feature an incredible children's activity zone made possible by The Mind Trust and The Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

The Mind Trust's commitment to educational equity aligns with our mission of preparing Latino students for success, and their investment helps fund the programs, scholarships, and opportunities that give Latino youth the tools to dream bigger.

The Children's Museum is bringing that energy to life with a kids zone where our youngest can explore, play, and celebrate their culture alongside their families.

At La Plaza we show up for our youth every day through Tu Futuro, Summer Discovery, and the Leadership Institute for Latino Youth. In 2024 we served nearly 400 students and awarded $48,000 in scholarships. Investing in our children is investing in our community's future.

We are so excited to announce that this year's Fiesta will feature an exclusive art exhibition in partnership with Indiana Latino Arts, an initiative by Arte Mexicano en Indiana. In this exhibition there will be a showcase of works of Latino artists right here in Indianapolis.

This is more than a display of art, it is a celebration of Latino artistic tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural pride brought to life in our community. It is a testament to the richness and depth of Latino visual culture, and we are honored to give these artists a prominent platform at the 44th Annual Fiesta Indianapolis.

Come experience their work and the full beauty of Latino art and culture at Fiesta Indianapolis on September 19th, free and open to the public.

This year we are welcoming food vendors and food trucks of ALL cultures and backgrounds because Fiesta has always been a celebration that belongs to everyone.
Whether you serve tacos, BBQ, empanadas, pupusas, or anything in between, there is a place for you at Indianapolis's most anticipated Latino community event.

In the past years thousands of Indianapolis families came together for a day that reminded all of us why Fiesta matters. The music, the food, the dancing, the children running through the grounds, the elders watching with pride, that is what 44 years of community looks like.

Something new is coming. ✨

For 44 years Fiesta Indianapolis has called Indianapolis home, and this year we are stepping into a brand new space that we could not be more excited to share with this community. But here is what makes Fiesta more than just an event, every sponsor who shows up and every vendor who sets up a booth is directly funding La Plaza's year-round work for Latino families across Central Indiana, including college preparation programs and scholarships for Latino youth, summer academic camps, workforce development, and access to health and social services including WIC, immunization clinics, emergency rent and utility assistance, food access, employment counseling, and support for victims of domestic violence. Fiesta is the celebration, but it is also the fuel that keeps this work going every single day of the year. We welcome you to our new home!!

Durante 44 años, Fiesta Indianapolis ha llamado hogar a Indianapolis, y este año damos un paso hacia un espacio completamente nuevo que no podríamos estar más emocionados de compartir con esta comunidad.
