The following is a brief bio of Dr. Ei Ei Hlaing:
Dr. Ei Ei Hlaing earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a specialization in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2015. Following the completion of her doctorate, she taught at Siena University in upstate New York and at University of Lynchburg in Virginia. In Fall 2026, she will join the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at DePauw University.
Her research focuses on sleep medicine, the relationship between sleep and cognition, and cognitive aging. She has taught a wide range of courses, including Research Methods, Statistics, Neuroanatomy, Developmental Psychology, Sleep and Circadian Rhythms, and Human Neuropsychology. Originally from Myanmar, she came to the United States in 2004 to attend University of Maine at Farmington for her bachelor’s degree. She is passionate about teaching and is deeply committed to mentoring students in research, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed as scholars and professionals.
