Shout out to and for partnering to get our youth two brand new pairs of shoes: one they were given and one they designed themselves. A new pair of shoes can drastically change the way a child walks into a room, and by designing their own pair of shoes, they got to practice self-expression and see their art come to life

Noblesville Boom & Indiana Pacers Forward Gabe McGlothan came and spoke to our youth about the power of community and supporting one another.

He shared the story of redwood trees and how the tallest trees in the world don’t grow alone. Their roots are shallow, but they intertwine, support, and strengthen one another. That’s how they stand tall through the storm.

That mirrors how we approach mentorship through community here at UHI.

We’re grateful to have Gabe as a part of our community and we have his back as he continues his NBA journey.

Today is Giving Tuesday. The day designed for communities to step up and protect the programs they believe in. If you’re reading this, thank you for being here.

Urban Hope Indy is a lifeline for youth in Indianapolis.
It’s Friday nights where community meets mentorship and kids feel seen and safe.
It’s Basketball Club where athletic development becomes discipline, confidence, and character.
It’s Art Club where young people finally have space to express what they’ve never had words for.
It’s mentors showing up when SNAP benefits freeze and families aren’t sure how they’ll get through the week.

This is what an upstream approach looks like — solving problems before they arise by pouring into the next generation. We believe wholeheartedly that the future of Indianapolis is changed by building strong children, one relationship at a time.

But to keep this vision alive in 2026, we need our community to step up.
Every $25 monthly donor helps us recruit mentors, keep programs open, drive kids across the city, and ensure no young person walks alone.
