Dream Indianapolis - Bulb Labyrinth Remembering MLK

Dream Indianapolis - Bulb Labyrinth Remembering MLK In the fall of 2017 peace-loving people came together to plant 6500 flower bulbs in a labyrinth to honor MLK. You can honor him by walking it every Spring.

Next Spring marks the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's assassination. Every year on April 4th in Indianapolis at the park which now bears his name we celebrate who he was and all he did. We remind ourselves of the words Bobby Kennedy used that night to refocus those who might have otherwise felt moved to riot. This fall we are asking people to do more than remember. We want people to ta

ke action in the non-violent, visionary way Reverend King taught us. We plan to plant a bulb labyrinth near MLK Park. Over 6500 bulbs planted this fall will spring up in 2018. It is this initiatives intention to involve the community in the act of planting these bulbs in order that we all may share in a bit of ownership in this peace-making project. The prayer for this project is that it may communicate not only the historical significance of this epicenter of peace in Indianapolis but also the importance of citizenship in keeping Dr. King's dream alive.

I watched one of these men tell his story on “The Case for Heaven.” Very interesting to hear how they knew details that they could not know…
