On Thanksgiving morning I had the utmost honor to pass out these goodie bags that we raised money for. 48 of them! I met, talked with, and prayed over dozens of people experiencing homelessness in our city and it was the biggest blessing to me. Truly.

Highlights from the morning:
- people were overwhelmingly open to share their story, to be prayed over and to hear about the gospel of Jesus
- the smiles on people’s faces as they were handed a bag and started to look through it!!
- we ran into another man who lived downtown passing out breakfast sandwiches to the same people we were passing out bags too because he said on his morning run he couldn’t help but do something to help
- being welcomed into a coffee shop that was CLOSED for the day and talking with the owner as she was passing out free coffee/hot cocoa to the homeless and decorating the shop for Christmas. Her heart was so big.

Thank you to everyone who wrote scriptures, donated money, shared my posts, prayed, and to my mom, dad, Chase, Hazel, and Amy for sacrificing your time and warmth to pass them out with me on your Thanksgiving holiday!

All items have been purchased and are pending assembly!!

A couple of people have already offered to help pass the bags out but the door is still open for more to meet us downtown Thanksgiving morning! Lmk if you’d like to!

We’re 15 days away from Thanksgiving!

I’m so grateful for the help in getting the supplies to hand out these bags. If you would like to come downtown with me on Thanksgiving morning to pass them out and pray then please let me know. We will be meeting at 10am at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe.

We’ve raised $450 out of $480 so far 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That’s 45 bags!! All of the hygiene and winter warmth supplies are ordered! I’m waiting until the week of to purchase the food items and assemble the bags.

If you have a verse of scripture that has encouraged you in hard seasons of life, please comment it or send it to me! Every bag will have a different handwritten scripture card. I have 3 verses as of now so 45 more are needed!!

Who would be interested in showing up to pass out essentials bags to the homeless with me on Thanksgiving morning?

We would meet at Monument circle in front of the South Bend Chocolate Cafe at 10 am.

You’ll receive some bags and we’ll all set out in different directions. We’d give one bag per person and ask if/how we can pray for them. Then pray for them right there in the moment, out loud!

I am blown away! Since my original post on October 20th we’ve pulled together a little over $370……and it’s only October 25th. That’s 37 people who will feel loved on Thanksgiving morning.

I originally set my goal to being able to make 48 bags but I’m doubling that! Let’s strive for at least 96 BAGS! I think we can do it 😁

UPDATE: We did it!!! All $480 has been donated❤️❤️❤️

On Thanksgiving morning I will be passing out assembled care packages of essential goods to those experiencing homelessness in downtown Indy. To increase the impact made, I’m opening up this to everyone I know!

It costs $10 to make each bag. It includes a drawstring bag, a toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, a hairbrush, chapstick, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, a pair of socks, a pair of gloves, a beanie hat, a reusable water bottle, 3 pre-packaged snacks, and a bottle of drinking water.

Also included will be invite and information cards for events and ministries at my home church, Charity Church. And a unique to each bag scripture card as well.

My goal is to provide 48 bags!!!
Here’s how you can help: Donate $10 or take time to find a verse of scripture that you feel would encourage someone! Or both if you’d like.
