The Irvington Historical Society has collected and preserved history for greater Irvington, and the eastside of Indianapolis since 1964. With the Bona Thompson Memorial as our home, beginning in 2000, we have been able to exhibit historical objects to form a connection between Irvington's past and its present. Our museum is available to the public without admission. We support our mission through donation, sponsorship, use of the Bona and the efforts of our volunteers.

In 1940, students at Howe High School could attend “Sophomore Round Up” after school. Tickets cost five cents for the event. Beatrice Whitaker (later Cottom) kept her ticket in a scrapbook along with many other mementos.
