Seeds of Hope is committed to providing a safe, structured, & supportive environment for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

We provide women & families recovery, transitional, and affordable housing with supportive services for all stages. Seeds of Hope provides a structured program that utilizes the 12-Steps of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. House capacity is 17 women. Length of stay is 6-12 months. Residents are required to work a minimum of 32 hours per week and pay $105/week to help defray some of the cost of their care. Programs include Relapse Prevention, Step Program, and Life Skills Training. Our house has served and will continue to serve women of all race, religions, creeds, and economic backgrounds.

Help us congratulate Shannon Palmer on being named Employee of the Month at Reverie Housing!

Shannon came to Seeds of Hope through our Recovery Home and now is a resident of Father Glenn Transitional Housing. We’ve had the joy of watching her continue to grow, and we’re so happy to celebrate this recognition with her.

Three of our ladies reached some pretty special recovery milestones last month:

Cat celebrated 90 days on September 6
Nikki celebrated 90 days on September 11
Arsheyanna celebrated 6 months on September 5

We are so proud of the work these women are putting into building the lives they want for themselves.

Cat, Nikki, and Arsheyanna, we love getting to celebrate these moments with you. Keep going ladies…. you have so much to be proud of.

We are incredibly grateful to the Guerin Catholic Girls Soccer program for choosing Seeds of Hope as the beneficiary of their annual service project!

Players and families from Guerin Catholic came together to collect an incredible assortment of items for the women and families living on our campus, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, cleaning and laundry supplies, children’s activities, and nonperishable food pantry items.

The team didn’t just collect the donations either. The girls also spent time sorting and packing everything into reusable bags, helping us organize the items so they can be easily distributed to the families we serve.

We love seeing young people get involved in their community, and we’re so thankful to the Guerin Catholic students, families, and school community for supporting Seeds of Hope and helping meet real, everyday needs on our campus.

A special thank you to Emmy, Lindsey and Ed Bukovac, as well as Bridget O’Connor, for helping coordinate this project and making it all come together.

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating a huge milestone with Ashley Goodwin-Calaway as she officially became a first-time homeowner!

Ashley came to Seeds of Hope in July 2024, completed our Recovery Home program, moved into Father Glenn Transitional Housing, and later into an apartment at the Marvetta and Anthony Grimes Family Center. Through hard work, continued recovery, and participation in our IDA program, Ashley was able to save toward purchasing a home of her own.

Our IDA program helps women build savings and work toward long-term financial goals, including homeownership, as they continue creating stability and independence in recovery.

We could tell you how proud we are of her, but we think Ashley says it best in her own words:

🌱 From Ashley:

“My name is Ashley Xavairea Schafer Goodwin-Calaway, and I am a very grateful recovering addict. My clean time birthday is November 2, 2022.

I have been a member of Seeds of Hope since July 25, 2024. I was transported here on parole directly after serving 1 year and 9 months in prison. I completed the Seeds of Hope Sober Living Program and moved to the Father Glenn O’Connor Transitional Housing in February of 2025. I am a productive member of society that has been working in the recovery field at Addiction Rehab Centers since April 2025. I successfully completed parole on October 31, 2025 and in December 2025 I moved into my own apartment in the Marvetta and Anthony Grimes Family Center on the Seeds of Hope Campus.

On this day, September 25, 2026, I officially became a first time home buyer! There are so many beloved memories I have of Seeds of Hope that I will keep in my heart for the rest of my life. It is simply phenomenal that I have come all this way, from more than a decade of truly devastating struggles in active addiction, to having all of my ducks in a row. The serenity is real and I have all my Seeds Sisters to thank for their unending love and support.

Seeds of Hope is the home I truly needed, to start out in the right direction and I am thrilled to be making this huge next step. The home I have bought is perfectly in the middle between work, family, and Seeds.

There is no obstacle greater than the strength you have within yourself!”

One year sober is worth celebrating in a big way, and Faith Stacy definitely did just that.

Faith recently celebrated one year of sobriety by going skydiving, and we love that she captured the experience on video.

Faith graduated from our Seeds of Hope Recovery Home program in March and is now a resident of our Father Glenn Transitional Housing. It has been such a joy to watch her continue moving forward, building on everything she has worked so hard for, and creating a life she can be proud of.

One year is a big deal. It represents so many choices, so much growth, and a lot of showing up for yourself even on the hard days.

Faith, we are so happy for you and so proud to celebrate this milestone with you. Congratulations on one year sober and thank you for taking us along for the ride with this video!

It’s hard to believe it has already been a year! We have made amazing strides at the Grimes Family Center, helping mothers rebuild their lives while keeping their families together. We are so proud of this partnership with Seeds of Change free clinic,Volunteers of America and St. Mary’s early childhood and the incredible work being done!

Horizon Bank celebrated the grand opening of its new branch at 5959 E. 38th Street and made the occasion even more meaningful by recognizing Seeds of Hope and our incredible staff for the work we do in our community.

Today we’re celebrating a beautiful milestone… Nikki has 90 days in recovery!

Nikki came to Seeds of Hope on August 6th and has brought so much positivity with her. She’s happy, engaging, encouraging, and almost always has a smile to share. Her bright spirit has been such a wonderful part of our Recovery Home.

And this week comes with another exciting step forward: Nikki starts a new job on Monday!

These are the moments we love to celebrate. 90 days of showing up, growing, working toward her goals, and continuing to build the life she deserves. Nikki, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what comes next. Please help us celebrate her 90 days and wish her lots of luck on her first day Monday! 🌱💚

Happy Birthday to our Seeds Sister, Janet! 🌱

Janet first came to Seeds of Hope in 2002, and today, she continues to be a special part of the Seeds family. Janet spends time working at our Recovery Home and supporting the women who are walking a path she knows personally. We are so grateful to have Janet as part of our Seeds family, then, now, and always.
