Indy Bass Club Team Bass Fishing Club Members wanted the competition of tournaments, yet in friendly, honest and open environment where your competitors are also your friends.

The Indy Bass Club (IBC) is a non federated bass fishing club of approximately fifty members who share the common interest of bass fishing, friendly competition and preservation of our natural resources. The club is based mainly on the southside of Indianapolis although we have members from Greencastle, Lizton, Coatsville, Avon, Noblesville and Greenfield. The club was formed in 1983 with 4 boats

and the original name of the club was Westside Indy Lunker Landers and changed to Indy Bass Club in the late 80's. In the last few years we have included Volunteerism to our mission including Kids' Fishing Clinics, Charity Tournaments, staffing the Indiana State Fair Fishing Pond and boaters for IU, Purdue and Ball State University Bass Clubs. Our members vary from the more experienced angler to newcomers looking to start their fishing career. Our membership consist of husband/wife, father/son, friends and individuals. "It's What We Do"

We are officially over 1/3 of the way through the 2026 season as already!

Saturday 4/18 we had our 2nd tournament of the at Geist Reservoir. We had a great showing with 23 boats and all 23 boats brought fish to the scales. 1st Place and Big Bass honors went to team White and Farrar weighing 15.70lbs achored by a 6.72lb mondo largemouth. 2nd place went to Team Languell/Heaton with 15.23lbs and they also secured 2nd big bass with a 4.69lb largemouth. 3rd place honors went to Team Taylor/Spandau with Tommy catching 14.17lbs while Todd balance beamed all their culls and Tommy sitting there watching him do all the work. 4th place and taking home last check was Team Morris/Hartmann with 13.15lbs.

Tournament Two of the weekend was held on Morse on Sunday 4/19. The weather was not for the faint of heart and we only had 17 boats participate. Taking home 1st place and Big Bass Honors was Team Morris/Hartmann with 16.69lbs anchored by just a tiny 6.45lb largemouth. 2nd place with 14.81 was Team Mahurin and rounding out the top 3 was guess who.....Team Languell/Heaton with 14.61lbs. Big Fish Ken Bilyeu threw a 5.89lb largemouth on the scale and took home 2nd big bass honors!!

Congrats to all that did well this week and take a look at the elite 8 standings below. We have quite the battle going on to see who finishes above that cut mark!! See you all at Tippy

Stop #1 Kentucky Lake

The fishing was far from lights out, but I will say for being March we couldn't have asked for better weather and we were still able to bring quite a few fish back to weigh in every day!!

We had several new teams fishing their first IBC tournament ever and 2 of those teams had fantastic starts to the season!! Team Allman & Kelly took home first place and were the only team to bring in a limit each day with a two day total of 25.47lbs!! Team Laguell/Heaton took home 2nd place and Big Bass honors for the tourney weighing in 7 fish for 21.71lbs & BB of 4.31lbs. 3rd Place went with to two long standing members, but newly formed duo - Team Lillard/Curtis with 17.71lbs. And rounding out the top 4 was another new team - Gilbert/Gilbert with a strong day 2 performance and a total weight of 15.04lbs. Team White/Farrar nabbed 2nd BB honors with a 4.12 BB.

In just a few short weeks we will be back at it with a back to back tourney week at Geist and Morse! See you all there!!

Congrats to Dayton and Charlie Land on winning their first IBC Classic and locking up the AOY Points Race!!

Wayne Judd /Byron Johnson were able to squeeze in for the Elite 8 race and Ted McClintick and Todd Smith were able to secure the Wild Card Berth into the Elite 8 as well.

All of the teams were served a pretty sweet dinner from 5-2-Oh food truck on friday night. Proceeds from the #1 boat launch auction paid for a majority of the meals. Thanks Tyler Land🤣

The members nominated and voted on officers for the 2026 season. No Changes were made.

President - Mike Botos
Vice President - Nate Redman
Tournament Director - Mike Schwomeyer
Treasurer - Todd Taylor

It was a fantastic season for IBC. First and foremost the camaraderie is the best around. It's definitely a family atmosphere in IBC. The competition is tough. The championship and elite 8 came down to the last day.

Next up is the Elite 8 Tourney on 10/11

We are already hard at work for the 2026 season!

Tyler Land leads his Brother Dayton and Dad Charlie by 10 points for the IBC Championship. The smack talk has been great!! Who's it going to be??

For the 8th and final spot in the Elite 8 Wayne Judd and Byron Johnson lead Mike Schwomeyer by a single point. Also in the hunt are Shawn White and Sam Farrar. It's going to be a battle!
