Turning Houses Into Homes

Turning Houses Into Homes WWW.THIH.ORG "Turning Houses into Homes" was established in the summer of 2011. THIH.ORG was created to help achieve that goal.

This outreach program was developed after reading a news story that vacant homes were draining our state budget. A simple solution would be to put a homeless person or family into a vacant house to solve the problem.

Don’t do anything for selfish purposes, but with humility think of others as better than yourselves. Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others.

• At any given time, there are between 4,400 and 7,300 people experiencing homelessness in Marion County.
• Through the course of the year, as many as 15,000 people experience homelessness in Indianapolis
• There are only 776 beds available in city shelters, leaving hundreds left with no place to go and no roof over their head
• Lost employment is the most common reason for homelessness
On behalf of the PourHouse and all those experiencing homelessness, we want to thank you for your commitment to make a difference! Your efforts mean a lot to those we’re serving. Not only will your donation provide comfort through the winter season, your kindness will inspire hope for someone who needs it.
