🎓 CELEBRATING DR. MICHAEL NAAB: A JOURNEY OF PURPOSE, PERSEVERANCE & IMPACT 🇬🇭

Today, Educational Communities Worldwide (EduCom) proudly celebrates Dr. Michael Naab on the successful completion of his Doctorate in Medical Laboratory Science at the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana.

Six years ago, Michael was a promising young student with a clear vision for his future. Through the support of EduCom and our partners, he was able to pursue that vision—and today, we celebrate the incredible milestone of seeing that dream become a reality.

Michael’s journey is especially meaningful because his passion for medical laboratory science was inspired by personal experience. Watching his father navigate hepatitis treatment helped him understand how essential accurate diagnosis is to quality healthcare.

But Michael has never been focused only on his own success. Throughout his education, he demonstrated a commitment to serving others through his involvement with St. John Ambulance and his willingness to assist people experiencing medical emergencies.

His story reminds us that education is not simply about earning a degree. It is about gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make a difference.

Last year, our EduCom team, led by our President Veronica Safoa Owusu , had the opportunity to interview Michael and hear more about his experiences, aspirations, and journey.

A Milestone for EduCom

Michael is also the fourth and final student from the cohort EduCom began sponsoring in 2021 to complete his education.

Four students. Four successful graduates. One shared belief in the transformative power of education. 🎓🎓🎓🎓

We extend our sincere gratitude to all current and former EduCom Board members, supporters, partners, and everyone who contributed to making these educational journeys possible.

Your support demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together and invests in the potential of young people.

At EduCom, we believe that education creates opportunity, opportunity creates possibility, and empowered individuals create stronger communities.

Congratulations, Dr. Michael Naab!

We are proud to have been part of your journey, and we look forward to seeing the impact you will make in the years ahead. 🇬🇭❤️

Help us create more success stories like Michael’s.

🌟 PROUD MOMENT: Fatimah Has Graduated! 🇬🇭🎓

We are thrilled to announce that Fatimah Basiru, one of our 2021 EduCom.World scholarship recipients, has officially graduated from the University for Development Studies with a Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies!

Fatimah grew up in rural northern Ghana, where accessing tertiary education is often a distant dream. Yet today, she stands as a graduate — ready to serve her community and inspire the next generation.

And the truth is simple:
This achievement happened because a community believed in her.

💛 Thank You to the People Who Made This Possible
A special appreciation to those whose commitment changed Fatimah’s life:

🔹 Pradeep Nair — Former board member who nominated EduCom during his time at Microsoft. Because of him, Microsoft employees rallied behind our mission and helped fund Fatimah’s journey.

🔹 Elorm Tetteh — Former board member whose support helped us secure a small but meaningful grant from Amazon, pushing this scholarship forward when it mattered most.

And to ALL our former and current board members, as well as our past and present volunteers — thank you.

Your leadership, time, and dedication continue to open doors for students who simply need a chance. You are the heartbeat of this mission. Your generosity didn’t just pay tuition. It opened a door that will ripple through generations.

🎥 Earlier This Year…
Our President, Veronica Safoa Owusu, traveled to Ghana to meet Fatimah in person and hear her powerful story. Her journey, her strength, and her gratitude remind us why this work matters so deeply. Watch full interview here : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SoDauIWWcP4

🚀 What’s Next: 2026 Scholarships
There are countless young people in rural Ghana walking the same path Fatimah once walked — brilliant, driven, but without resources.
In 2026, we aim to sponsor another 4 university students through full-ride scholarships.

If you’re an individual, corporate partner, foundation, or community group that wants to transform a life the way Fatimah’s was transformed, we invite you to partner with us.

From Hustle to Hope: Celebrating Our EduCom Scholars 🎓🌍

During our recent trip to Ghana, the Educational Communities Worldwide (EduCom) team had the honor of meeting two of our 2021 full-ride scholarship recipients—Michael Naab and Fatimah Basiru—at the University for Development Studies, where both have pursued degrees in the medical field.

Michael’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience. Once a “mate” (car conductor) on the streets of Kumasi, he turned hardship into motivation. With the support of EduCom’s full-ride scholarship, Michael is now completing his Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science—a major milestone made possible through determination and opportunity.

We also had the joy of reconnecting with Fatimah, who recently graduated with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the same university. Her grace, intelligence, and passion for community health truly reflect the heart of EduCom’s mission.

Both interviews were conducted by our President, Veronica Safoa Owusu, who engaged the students in thoughtful, heartfelt conversations about their journeys and the transformative power of education.

🎥 A big shout-out to our talented videographer, Patrick Obeng, for beautifully capturing these stories on film. Your work helps us bring these powerful narratives to life.

Meeting Michael and Fatimah in person was a moving reminder of why this mission matters. These scholarships are more than financial aid—they are bridges to brighter futures and catalysts for change.
