Thanks to our exciting partnership with Coburn Place, we're upgrading our storage unit space - but we need your help to make it happen! 🚚

If you're passionate about our cause and want to contribute your time and energy, we'd be thrilled to have you join us this Friday. This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact and be part of an exciting organizational milestone.

The move should take less than 2 hours, but the time commitment will depend on how many volunteers we have. Every pair of hands counts!

Can't help the whole time but want to help us get started? Plan to meet us at our current storage unit on E Washington street this Friday at 9:30am.

Looking for a simple way to give back to your community that fits your schedule? Volunteer on our Relocation Team!

Our Relocation Team helps pick up donated furniture, deliver furniture to families, and helps families move into their new homes.

There is NO set time commitment. We simply add you to our list of volunteers and reach out when we there's a request in the community and we need an extra set of hands.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Reach out to us via FB, text (317-975-0958), or email ([email protected]) letting us know you want to be added to the relocation team. OR simply comment below and we'll reach out to you 😁

2. We will ask you a few questions and add you to our list of volunteers

3. When we have a request and need help, we'll reach out to you via your preferred contact method. If you're available to help? GREAT! Can't do it on the day we need? That's okay too, and we will reach out again the next time there is a need.

Want to help but don't have reliable transportation? We would love for you to still reach out to us, as many times we are able to pick and drop off volunteers.

One common misconception is that we only serve single moms - We serve single dads too! In fact, we consider a "single parent household" any household that has one adult raising one or more dependent children (or is currently pregnant) without the presence and support of a spouse or adult partner living with them.

This could mean you're a single mom or single dad.. Or maybe you're an aunt, uncle, grandma, or cousin, with temporary custody of a child in your family - As long as you're the only adult in the home with dependent children, you fit our definition of a single parent household and we would love to support you!

Y’all made it happen! 🎉 We raised enough funds to secure our storage unit for the next 6 months! We are so grateful for everyone who shared our post and donated towards our campaign.

Not only did we start moving furniture in today, but we also delivered furniture to a family who just moved into their own home 🙌 God is good!

Thank you for helping us spread the word. We are excited for all of the families we have yet to meet. And we also want to highlight our volunteer who spent his day off of school helping Chosen 1-9!

Why a storage unit is essential to our work:

-Sustainability.

Having a storage unit will ensure that we don’t have to turn down furniture donations due to lack of space. Currently, we have so many furniture donations that we can’t fit anymore in our Founders or volunteers homes!

Not only will we be able to continue accepting donations but we will be able to have a variety of furniture pieces on-hand and ready when requests from families come in.

-Centralized space for volunteers.

Having a storage unit closer to downtown Indy will allow our volunteers to have easier (and closer!) access to helping collect and deliver donations.

Currently, donations are stored at our Founders home and a volunteers garage until a time is coordinated with families to have donations dropped off. Having a storage unit will allow us to serve more families, in a prompt manner, and with continued excellence.

We also want to make note that running out of space does NOT mean we have a surplus of donations, but no families to serve. In fact, a handful of our current inventory is already accounted for but is simply waiting to be delivered.

Hey Chosen 1-9 family! We are currently in need of furniture donations and need your help. If you or anyone you know is wanting to donate gently used furniture, please keep us in mind. You don’t have to worry about delivering it, because we will pick it up!

Our most requested furniture needs so far have been:

Twin box springs/Twin bed frames
Mattresses
Desks and chairs for kids/teenagers to study
Tall floor lamps
Small living room couches

We are also in need of our own storage unit so we can have items on-hand and ready when we receive requests. This will allow us to serve more families on a continuous basis! If you would like to donate towards this goal, you can do so here:

Since we've launched, Chosen 1-9 has provided relocation services for three moms! 🥳 This included locating furniture donations, picking up, and delivering the furniture to their new homes.
