Congratulations to the September bus drivers of the month.

Please join us in celebrating Kristy Keough and Paige VanCleave as our Transportation Employees of the Month!

Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to our students and their teammates were seen by everyone this month. When we needed people to step up, Kristy and Paige answered the call—and their efforts did not go unnoticed!

We could not be more appreciative of everything they do to help keep our Transportation family moving forward. 💛🖤

Kristy and Paige, THANK YOU for representing the very best of our team! Congratulations—you earned it!

Also thank you to Macallister Transportation and Kopetsky Auto Wash for their donations of a $50 Amazon card and a complimentary car wash!

🌟 Who is ready for another Mission Monday? 🌟

This week, we have two teachers to highlight! Give it up for September’s Funding In A Flash winners, Sydney Forler and Matt Taylor from Kitley Intermediate School!

Sydney and Matt launched a Breakfast Club over at Kitley Intermediate School. This club allows 6th grade ELA students to combine with students from Kitley’s essential skills classes to “promote inclusivity, friendship, and a sense of belonging among all of [their] students.” When asked about the purpose of their project, Sydney said, “This is not about some students being “helpers.” Instead, we want to create an opportunity for students to spend time together, meet new friends, build relationships, and learn that everyone has a place in our school community.”

Some of Sydney’s students told her why they wanted to be a part of the Kitley Breakfast Club. One student told Sydney that they wanted to join because “[they] feel like everyone should be able to feel like they are wanted.” We truly believe that this project will help achieve that.

We would once again like to thank you for your support that makes opportunities such as these possible for Franklin Township students. Stay tuned for more Mission Mondays coming soon!

🌟 It’s time for another Mission Monday! 🌟

This week, we would like to highlight Sarah Eads’ Grant Project, “United by the Net.”

Sarah Eads is a physical education teacher at South Creek Elementary School. Sarah requested a portable two-court volleyball net system that could be adapted to play many different games. The addition of this net would “encourage movement, teamwork, and inclusion for all kindergarten through third grade students.” When asked what the vision for her project was, Sarah said, “Every child deserves a place to play, belong, and succeed. With a portable system, I can create a flexible learning environment where students of all abilities participate in a wide range of engaging activities. The nets will be used during physical education classes, adaptive physical education classes, before-and after-school programs, and family engagement nights.”

FTEF was happy to provide Sarah with $2,616.81 to make this project a reality. The addition of the net allowed students to engage with a variety of games, including volleyball, tennis, pickleball, and other net based games. This project impacted roughly 500 students at South Creek. When asked how the grant impacted her school, Sarah said that “overall, the grant has significantly improved the quality of [their] physical education program and expanded opportunities for students to develop important skills through active participation.” A first grade student at South Creek also commented on the net, saying “I [love] the new volleyball net because it [makes] me feel like a real volleyball player! My friends [have] so much fun hitting the ball back and forth over the net.”

We would once again like to thank you for your support that makes grants such as these possible. Stay tuned for more Mission Mondays coming soon!
