SHOE DRIVE IS HAPPENING NOW!
The Indiana Deaf Children Foundation’s Step Up for ISD Big Closet Shoe Drive officially kicked off September 8 — and we’re ready to fill the Big Closet with shoes for students at the Indiana School for the Deaf!
From everyday sneakers to shoes for school, sports, and everything in between, every pair makes a difference.
We’re collecting new and gently used shoes for children and teens ages 3–18 until October 8th!

Let’s step up for ISD students — one pair at a time.

What exactly is the “Big Closet”?
The Big Closet is a resource on the Indiana School for the Deaf campus where students can access everyday essentials they may need — including shoes, clothing, hygiene products, linens and more.

This September, we’re focusing on one of the Big Closet’s most frequently identified needs:
SHOES

We’re asking our community to help provide new and gently used shoes for ISD students ages 3–18.

A HUGE Back-to-School Thank You to Turner Construction!
We want to give a HUGE thank you to Turner Construction for their incredible back-to-school donation to the Indiana School for the Deaf!
They showed up with bags and boxes full of school supplies—notebooks, markers, highlighters, water bottles, book bags, glue sticks, Lysol wipes, and so much more!
These are the kinds of donations that make a real, tangible impact for ISD students. Every notebook, backpack, and bottle of supplies means something that IDCF doesn't have to purchase—and that allows us to direct our funds toward other needs that aren't covered by the school's budget, educational funding gaps, and the many additional resources and opportunities our students deserve.
Community support like this is what makes our work possible.
Thank you, Turner Construction, for investing in our students and helping make sure they start the school year ready to learn, grow, and succeed!

The Big Closet is filled with items students may need to thrive and feel confident throughout their day-including shoes, clothing, linens, toiletries and more.
