Pack Away Hunger partners with churches, schools, businesses, and civic groups to create highly nutritious meals at fun and inspiring meal packing events. The meals are then distributed to local food pantries or to partners serving international communities in need.

Last month, Barrett & Stokely hosted a meal pack with 140 volunteers and packed an incredible 25,000 meals!

What stands out most is that Barrett & Stokely's core values are not something they created and forgot about. They put those values into action by investing in their community and creating opportunities for their team to make a tangible difference. This just in! Nutri-Plenty meals have officially been delivered to two village schools in Honduras! ❤️

Join us for the Summer of Service Meal Pack on Thursday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Pack Away Hunger warehouse!

Students of all ages, from elementary school through college, are invited to spend one day of their summer making a real difference in the lives of others. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are encouraged to join their students. Extra helping hands are welcome and appreciated! Volunteers will work together to pack nutritious meals that will help feed families both locally and around the world.

After the pack, stick around for lunch and ice cream as we celebrate a morning of impact, teamwork, and service. It’s a fun and meaningful way to give back, meet new friends, and be part of something bigger this summer!

Meet Our Board Member: Rodney Frieden!

Rodney has been part of Pack Away Hunger since its inception, hosting meal-packing events of all sizes and helping expand its reach across the community. He was drawn early on to the organization’s ability to create meaningful service opportunities with a tangible, lasting impact.
Rodney brings a unique blend of corporate and nonprofit financial expertise, shaped by years of experience as an executive and business owner. A respected leader, administrator, preacher, and teacher, he has a proven track record of serving both secular organizations and the church with clarity and purpose.

He currently serves as Senior Pastor at Epworth United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Over the past decade, Rodney has also played a key role in shaping stewardship across the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church as Chair of the Conference Council on Finance and Administration, providing financial oversight for the entire conference.

Known for his thoughtful, people-first leadership style, Rodney is deeply committed to recognizing the value every individual brings to the mission.

Serving on the board is a natural extension of his passion for impact. Rodney believes faith should inspire action — and through Pack Away Hunger, he helps make a difference one meal at a time.

In the battle against hunger and malnutrition, our sole focus is to provide the most nutritious meal possible. To create this meal we sought expertise from The Mathile Institute for the Advancement of Human Nutrition. The result is our Nutri-PlentyTM Meal, fueled by Mathile M+ MicronutrientsTM, a scientifically-proven blend of 21 vitamins and minerals shown to help alleviate and also reverse the effects of micronutrient malnutrition in young children.
