Pack Away Hunger

07/30/2026

On Saturday, August 8 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., roll up your sleeves and volunteer with Pack Away Hunger at a meaningful meal packing event. Together, we'll assemble 15,000 nutritious meals for our neighbors. Give a few hours of your time to make a real, local impact and experience the power of coming together to nourish our community.

This is hands-on service at its best—an energetic assembly line of neighbors, coworkers, families, and friends working side-by-side for a shared purpose. The meals we’ll create are shelf-stable, heart-healthy, and packed with rice, vegetables, soy, and a vitamin/mineral blend designed to deliver complete nutrition. Think Rice-A-Roni—but better for the body and soul.

Your support matters. A few hours of your time or a small donation can mean food security for someone who might otherwise go hungry. Every $1 donated provides meals, and each volunteer helps turn compassion into action.

This event made possible by a generous donation from Good Works Indy.

What an incredible example of a community coming together to make a difference!

Earlier this year, thanks to a $5,000 Stronger Together Grant from the Hendricks County Community Foundation and our partnership with the Brownsburg Rotary Club, volunteers packed 16,632 Nutri-Plenty meals for families across Hendricks County. 💙🥣

We're grateful to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who helped make this initiative possible, and to the Hendricks County Food Pantry Coalition for getting these meals into the hands of local families.

A grant from the Hendricks County Community Foundation is helping expand local efforts to address food insecurity through a new partnership aimed at providing nutritious meals to families across the

Our Summer of Service Pack was a huge success!

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, we packed 15,152 nutritious meals! Even more exciting, more than half of our volunteers were packing meals for the very first time! We love welcoming new faces to the Pack Away Hunger family.

After a morning of making a difference in the summer heat, we celebrated with lunch and a well-deserved treat from Amy's Frozen Paradise.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Whether you're an individual, family, business, or community group, we'd love to have you join us at a future packing event.

💚 Sometimes the greatest impact can't be measured by statistics alone.

After nearly nine years with Pack Away Hunger, our Deputy Director, Angela Cardwell, thought she knew everything there was to know about our Nutri-Plenty® meal and M+ packet. She knew the science, the nutrition, and the research behind how each meal provides the nutrients a child needs during the critical first 1,000 days of life.

But it wasn't until a recent visit with our partners in Honduras that she witnessed something the data could never fully capture.

As Angela visited seven different villages, she saw firsthand the transformation in children who had been receiving Nutri-Plenty for varying lengths of time. The difference wasn't just physical. The children who had been in the program longer were more confident, more curious, more energetic, and full of hope for the future.

Parents shared the same message again and again: their children's minds had opened, they were more engaged, and they were excited to learn and explore the world around them.

This is the true power of Nutri-Plenty. It's more than a meal. It's nourishment that strengthens bodies, fuels growing minds, and gives children the foundation they need to dream bigger and build a brighter future.

One meal. One child. One future at a time. ❤️🌎

Earlier this year, Pack Away Hunger donated 18 pallets (20,000 pounds!!!) of Nutri-Plenty Meals to support families impacted by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Through our incredible partner, United Help Ukraine, these meals were safely transported overseas and are now reaching those who need them most.

More than 5,000 people have already received life-sustaining food, including internally displaced families, elderly individuals, women with children, and other vulnerable Ukrainians. The second shipment is still being distributed, meaning the impact of this donation continues to grow every day.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered, donated, and supported our mission. Together, we're making an impact that reaches far beyond our community. 💙💛
