Our babies are worth educating!

Did you know young people ages 13–24 accounted for 19% of new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. in 2022? In honor of National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we’re recognizing Miley Cyrus for using her platform to speak out for vulnerable youth and raise awareness around HIV.

At the amfAR Inspiration Gala in New York, Miley was honored for her contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through the Happy Hippie Foundation, which she founded in 2014, she has continued to support homeless youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and other vulnerable populations.

Today is a reminder that young people deserve accurate s*x education, access to testing, and non-judgmental support. Together, we can help build a future where all young people have the information and access to care they need to stay healthy.

Indiana’s laws punish people living with HIV for actions that do not transmit the virus, including attempting to donate blood, having s*x while using proven prevention methods or even spitting. Saliva does not transmit HIV, and the blood supply is safe due to robust screening. These laws defy modern science and undermine public health by reinforcing stigma.
