Both founders strongly believe in learning through play and using toys as tools. Play helps kids build social skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, imagination, empathy, math skills, language skills, and so much more. Often times kids don't have the right toys in the home to combat developmental delays, help with special needs, and encourage normal developmental milestones. We collect new
and gently used toys and books and distribute them to children throughout central and south central Indiana. At Project Play, toys are much more than Christmas gifts, they're important developmental tools that we put in to kids' hands all year long. FAQ
Do you take any toys and books? We take quality very seriously. While we love accepting gently used toys, we do ask that you ensure that toys and games have all pieces, and books aren't missing pages. We do not accept any used stuffed animals or equipment such as car seats, bouncers, strollers, or swings. We also do not accept any new or used weapons. Where can I drop off donated toys? In the Indianapolis area, toys can be dropped off at 6658 E. 10th St. Please send a private message to Project Play before dropping off toys, so that we know to expect them. Toys in the Bloomington area can be dropped off at The Toy Chest in the Bloomington College Mall or at The Toy Chest located in Brown County at 125 S. Van Buren St. If you are unable to drop off your donation, we are also able to arrange a pick-up.
