Eastern Hancock School students had the opportunity to be involved in Honda's Manufacturing Day event at its facility in Greensburg where they had the opportunity to virtually weld parts onto a vehicle and learn about assembly lines through a Lego challenge.

When a full-time position opened at Toyota Material Handling during Taylor Young's college internship, there was one problem: the hiring deadline fell before her graduation. So she contacted her professors, coordinated an online study program and finished her degree early to take the job. She's brought that same problem-solving energy to her work ever since, including helping boost a supplier's delivery performance from 93.5% to 99% in just over a year.

Echo Electric, a Sonepar subsidiary, has announced that it plans to add a new branch in Fort Wayne, which will create more than 10 jobs at the facility and mark its fifth location in Indiana.

Echo Electric will add a fifth branch in the Hoosier State and a 65th overall.

Warsaw-based zimmer biomet has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters across town and donate its current headquarters building to Grace College. The college plans to use the building to “advance its commitments to STEM education and orthopedic innovation,” especially as it works to meet a growing demand for skilled professionals in the orthopedic and medical technology sectors.

Zimmer Biomet said it will relocate corporate HQ operations across town to its facility at 1800 W. Center St. in Warsaw, which is billed as the largest orthopedic manufacturing facility in the world.

Last week, we welcomed the Conexus Indiana team for a visit to see what we’ve been working on and where we’re headed next.

From the bale ties that helped build our business to our growing wire forming and automation capabilities, we’re proud of the progress our team is making right here in Crawfordsville.
