4th of July ¡Ole! Friday July 4th, 2014 - 3-11pm at St. Mary! Every year on July 4th , the parish continues to open its arms at the 4th of July ¡Ole!

Since the early 1900’s, Saint Mary Catholic Church has invited people from all overthe world to be a part of a vibrant community in the heart of historic downtown. to all those gathering downtown, not only to celebrate our freedom but also the diverse culture of Indianapolis. The festival, which started years ago as parishioners gathered on the limestone steps of the Neo-Gothic church to watch the

fireworks, has grown each year; now, the parish is preparing to welcome hundreds of families in the parking lot on the south end of the campus located at 317 N New Jersey Street, Indianapolis – come rain or shine. Children and families are invited to participate in games, rides and various educational activities. Returning to the festival this year is marketplace and showcase featuring artists and community organizations. In addition to traditional American 4th of July food, regional Latin American and local specialties will be available for purchase including carne asada, popusas, and more! This is a great opportunity to come downtown, celebrate our nation’s birthday, experience the parish’s mission of building unity among cultures, visit the historic church, enjoy an afternoon and evening of incredible food, lively music, fun activities, and enjoy the Fireworks of the City of Indianapolis. Revenues from the event support the ministries of the parish that include religious formation, a medical clinic and immigration office, Latino youth outreach, and additionally to preserve the church and facilities. Admission to the festival is free and parking is available around the city neighborhood. For more information contact the parish office at (317) 637-3983.
