Impact of a Nurse:

Celebrating the incredible work of nurses every day is a privilege for Caroline Mullins, MSN, RN, CEN, CCRN, as the Administrator of Nursing Excellence.

Caroline guides nurses through change and recognizes both major achievements and everyday victories. She finds joy in supporting those who care for others, believing that uplifting nurses and highlighting their impact on patients, families, and one another is immensely rewarding.

Sometimes, the greatest impact comes from helping others shine. Mullins MSN, RN, CEN, CCRN

Impact of a Nursing Student:

While working as a student nurse, Kamryn recognized the signs of paraphimosis, a medical emergency, and immediately alerted the patient's nurse. Drawing on knowledge gained in her health assessment course at Indiana State University, her quick action helped ensure timely treatment and prevent serious complications.

Her vigilance is a powerful reminder that nursing students make a difference every day.

One encounter changed my nursing practice forever.

As a home care nurse, I cared for a young man dying from bone cancer. Despite pain and difficult circumstances, he remained positive, courageous, and hope-filled until the very end.

In his final moments, I watched a tear run down his cheek. As I left his room, I experienced something I had never felt before — joy in the midst of sorrow.

In that moment, I knew my nursing would never be the same.

That experience led me to faith community nursing, a calling that has now shaped more than 30 years of my life and practice.

For this, I am forever grateful. Erlenbaugh-Gaddis

As a nursing educator and author, I have the privilege of helping shape the next generation of nurse practitioners and leaders.

But the best moments?

The instant when a complex concept suddenly clicks, confidence shines through, and a student realizes, “I can do this.”

Those moments are why nursing educators teach.
Those moments are why we write.
And those moments continue to inspire me every single day.

🏡💙 The Impact of a Nurse 💙🏡

During a routine home visit with a client who was 33 weeks pregnant, a nurse noticed subtle but serious warning signs — facial swelling and elevated blood pressure. Although the client felt “fine,” the nurse recognized the potential signs of preeclampsia and immediately contacted the OB provider.

➡️ The client was assessed, her blood pressure continued to rise, and within two days, her baby boy was born prematurely.

➡️ Thanks to early intervention and nursing expertise, both mom and baby are doing well today.

This is the power of nursing: prevention, education, advocacy, and action when it matters most. Nurses make a life-saving difference every single day. Falls, Nurse-Family Partnership, Baldwin, Elizabeth Sigler
