The 500 Festival, a nonprofit founded in 1957, produces iconic events and programs celebrating the legacy of the Indianapolis 500 and the vibrant community spirit of Indiana. Our events, which draw more than half a million attendees annually, contribute to a lasting $500 million impact on Indiana’s economy. With over 50 unique events and programs, including the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon

, Kids’ Day, and the AES 500 Festival Parade, we bring people together to celebrate the magic of May in Indianapolis. From health and fitness initiatives to education programs for youth, the 500 Festival strengthens the community, enriching lives and creating lasting memories.

Yesterday, the 2026 intern class took a trip to the IMS Museum for an immersive look at the legendary history of the Indy 500! It was the perfect final adventure before everyone heads off to their next chapters. 🏎️💨

A huge thank you to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and Paul Centanni for making this experience possible.

We are so grateful for this team's hard work, dedication, and positive energy throughout the 2026 season. We can’t wait to see what you all achieve next — best of luck!

What an electric start to the 70th Annual 500 Festival Lucas Oil Parade! 🏁

The Parade was officially a hit Saturday… and the talent was next level. ✨

Loren Allred began the show with a powerful performance of the National Anthem, followed by Ephraim Owens who kept the momentum high, taking center stage for a show-stopping rendition of "Don't Stop Believin'." 🎶

The streets were packed and the Indy 500 spirit was full force

The 70th Lucas Oil 500 Festival Parade is officially in the books, and it was the perfect way to kick off the big weekend! 🎉

We love to see a local legend take center stage. Indianapolis native Ephraim Owens did exactly that at the Lucas Oil 500 Festival Parade today, performing “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

Joined by the Indiana Pacemates and Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders, The Voice alumnus brought his journey full circle. After growing up riding his bike to this very event, his transition from watching along the route as a kid to performing on one of Indiana’s biggest stages represents a true “Racing Through History” moment.
