Like a Lion Providing academic, emotional and spiritual support to youth on the east side of Indianapolis Our program runs Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6:30.

Like a Lion works with kids grades k-7th in our after school program and our summer camp. We focus on providing the children with a loving environment where they can grow closer to Jesus and grow as active members of their community. We are currently running our after school program where the kids come to get school help, bible studies, participate in clubs, and have free time. If you are interest

Worship looks a little different in our olders classroom. While our younger kids dance and praise, our older kids listen to worship music while reflecting and painting the lyrics. We have found that, through this method our big kids are more engaged and ask more questions!

One of our most treasured traditions is our Thanksgiving Feast! On this day our staff goes all out and makes a full Thanksgiving meal, but the food isn't what makes this day so special. It's a chance for us to come together with not just our kids but their families too! The feast gives us a chance to chat with our kids parents, get to know younger siblings who will someday join our program, and visit with kids who have moved away or aged out of our program! We are so grateful for sweet memories and lots of fun with each member of our Like a Lion family!

One of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions is pie face! Each year one or two of our students gets to choose the staff member of their choice to pie in the face! This is one the kids look forward to all year and truly brings a level of fun and silliness that few other actives can! We talk a lot about how our program is like a family, and that means that our kids help out! Having our kids help clean up, help a younger student, or help set up dinner are all ways that we work to instill a strong work ethic and sense of ownership of our program and building!
