In recognition of September’s Sickle Cell Awareness Month, Martin
Center’s “Your Tomorrow Starts Today” conference brought warriors,
caregivers, advocates, and medical professionals together to learn,
connect, and support one another.

From advances in treatment to mental wellness and everyday care, the conference created space for meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and hope for the future.

An often invisible disease. A community that deserves to be seen.
Sickle cell disease impacts more than 1,000 people in Marion County
alone. Behind that number are people and families who need understanding, resources, and continued support during September and throughout the year.

Warriors and Supporters had an amazing time at "Your Tomorrow Starts Today, "The 2026 Martin Center Sickle Cell Conference!

On September 26, warriors, caregivers, families, healthcare professionals, and advocates came together at The Haverstick to learn, connect, and celebrate the strength of the sickle cell community. We’re grateful to Dr. Lewis Thomas, Dr. Seethal Jacob, Dr. Andrew O’Brien, and comedian Tyler Hill for sharing their knowledge, perspective, and joy with us!
