🎓✨ First college visit of the summer—what a fantastic way to kick things off!

A big thank you to Marian University Indianapolis for hosting The Indiana Latino Institute for an exciting day of learning, exploration, and discovery. Students had the opportunity to connect with the admissions team, explore campus through a fun scavenger hunt, and experience interactive simulations in engineering, nursing, and education. They also heard firsthand from current students during an engaging panel, giving them valuable insight into the college experience.

Experiences like these help students envision their future and take meaningful steps toward their educational goals. Thank you, Marian University, for inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Our College Access team had the opportunity to facilitate a Survivor-style leadership simulation at Marian University Leadership Camp!

The activity was led by Brenda Gutierrez and Estrella Mejia, who guided campers as they explored different leadership styles, collaborated as a team, and made quick decisions under pressure to help their team succeed. It was a fun and engaging way to build communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

A special thank you to Sergio and Marissa from the Marian University team for inviting us and making this collaboration possible. We loved being part of such an inspiring experience and can't wait for the next one!

The Gateway to Gold: A DePauw Summer Experience

What an unforgettable experience our ILI students had at DePauw University!
Throughout the week, students stepped into a true college environment, engaging in meaningful learning, exploring campus life, and participating in hands-on activities that brought the college experience to life. For many, this was their very first time on a university campus, an experience that sparked confidence, curiosity, and new possibilities for their future.

This week-long immersion through DPyoU Belong gave students the opportunity to fully experience college life in a supportive and empowering environment.

Special recognition to Brenda and Estrella for their incredible support throughout the week—standing alongside our students, creating meaningful memories, and helping them move closer to their educational dreams, alongside the dedicated DePauw team Maria Santillan and the dedicated college student mentors.
