FPCC compassionately provides programs to ease the burden of low to moderate income individuals who struggle with life’s basic needs. Fletcher Place currently offers FREE programs to help meet immediate needs and to assist in breaking the cycle of poverty. Recent heat and rain are helping our garden thrive! 🥦🥬🫜

Please volunteer with us on Saturday. We will be there from 9am to 11am. Join for as much or as little of the morning as you like.

Tasks for Saturday include:
- Harvesting broccoli, cabbage, kale, collards, spinach, beets and (maybe) cauliflower.
- Weighing and distributing veggies from Corteva.
- Opening the garden stand to share fresh veggies with the community.
- Thinning (and giving away) some flower seedlings.
- Weeding and watering!

Saturday's weather should be sunny and less humid! Wear your sunscreen and hat and bring lots of water 🙂

Big thank you to the Techpoint volunteers who helped out last Saturday. They did a fantastic job of harvesting, assembling tomato cages, weeding and planting! They also bought us new garden gloves.

P.S. Our raspberries are at their peak! Stop by for a sweet treat. 😉

Fresh, healthy food should be accessible to everyone. 🥦🥕🥒🌶️
More than 50% of the families served by Fletcher Place Community Center face barriers to accessing fresh fruits and vegetables due to the food desert in our neighborhood. That's why our Community Garden is so important—it provides affordable, accessible produce while creating a space for neighbors to connect and enjoy the outdoors.
Our Garden Veggie Stand is open every Saturday morning (while the veggies last) with fresh, locally grown produce available to anyone who needs it.

Come by, take what you need, and help spread the word to your friends and neighbors!

Did you know? The Fletcher Place Community Center Garden Veggie Stand is OPEN every Saturday morning! 🥦🍅🥕🫜🌽

We're excited to share that fresh harvest from our community garden is now available on Saturdays at the garden stand!

This week's harvest includes:
• Lettuce
• Spinach
• Kale
• Collards
• Cabbage
• Broccoli
• Beets
• Turnips
• Kohlrabi

WOW! Come by and take what you need! Please help spread the word to neighbors who may benefit from fresh produce! Our garden is here to help nourish our neighbors and connect our community through fresh, locally grown produce.

What a wonderful weekend at our Take-Away Event!

We were blessed with beautiful weather, a fantastic turnout, and an incredible spirit of community throughout the day. It was great to see so many neighbors come by Fletcher Place Community Center.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Fletcher Place Community Center Board members and our amazing volunteers who dedicated their time, energy, and hard work to make this event a success. Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without your commitment and support.

It’s going to be a SUNNY and beautiful day here at Fletcher Place! ☀️

🥕The Community Garden team will harvest, maintain and distribute veggies to our neighbors at our stand. We can use lots of volunteers! If you are coming to help, please park in the small lot by the alley on the north side of the garden. Join us 9-11 AM!

👕 Also taking place is our free “take away” event in the FPCC parking lot from 11AM-3PM! Lots of clothing, shoes, and household items for free! Come check it out!

We’re going to try again this weekend!
After a couple of failed attempts due to inclement weather, Fletcher Place Community Center is excited to host our Parking Lot “Take Away” Event this Saturday, May 30th from 11am–3pm.
Stop by the parking lot behind the building at 1637 Prospect Street for free clothing, shoes, and household items — available to everyone in our community.
Even rain couldn’t stop the success of our first event, and we’re looking forward to doing it again. Come take what you need, share with a neighbor, and help us spread the word!

🌱 Join us in the garden tomorrow! 🌱
We’re anticipating a very busy volunteer session this Saturday, May 23, and we’ll need lots of helping hands to get everything done.
Stop by anytime between 9–11 AM, whether you can stay the whole time or just a little while. In addition to planting, we’ll harvest spring veggies and share them with neighbors at the garden stand. 🫜🥬🥕
There’s a decent chance of rain, so please keep an eye here for any updates or cancellations.
Bring your water bottle, wear old shoes, and come ready to dig in.
