📢 Big News! We’re doing it again!

After the success of our first Parking Lot “Take Away” Event—even in the rain—Fletcher Place Community Center is hosting another day of FREE clothing, shoes, and household items for everyone in our community.

Our next volunteer session for the community garden is this Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Join for as much or as little of Saturday morning as you like! No experience necessary. We will provide gloves, tools and advice.

Last Saturday a group from Vision in Action joined and we were able to accomplish a great deal. Thank you VIA!

Tasks for this Saturday include planting flowers, herbs and climbing spinach seeds! We will also harvest some radishes and possibly other spring veggies.

There will be lots to do, so plan to swing by. Remember your hat, sunscreen and water bottle!

🌱 Head over tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, from 9:00–11:30 AM for a fun morning in the community garden. Drop by for the whole session or just a little while — whatever works for you!
No experience? No problem. We’ll provide gloves, tools, and friendly garden advice. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, about 25% of the garden beds are already planted — let’s keep the momentum going!
This Saturday’s tasks may include:
🌿 Planting green beans
🥕 Harvesting radishes and other spring veggies
🌼 Helping the garden get ready for the season
The weather looks clear but chilly, so dress warmly — and don’t forget sunscreen and a water bottle.

🚧 Also, the Indy 500 Mini Marathon is happening Saturday morning, so give your route a quick check before heading over.

Family Engagement Night at REACH Early Learning was in full bloom this month! 🌸

Families joined us as we opened the greenhouse and explored fun, hands-on learning activities together. Parents and children planted flowers and seeds, drew flowers and plants, and even reconstructed flowers to learn more about how they grow.

Family Engagement Nights are designed to provide guided, easy-to-follow activities that families can enjoy together while building important early learning skills. We love creating opportunities for parents and children to connect, explore, and learn side by side.

🌱 Come join us this Saturday in the garden!

We’ll be focusing on planting and weeding, and we’d love to have your help. The garden is looking great, and we’ll soon be harvesting some spring crops like radishes, beets, spinach, and more!

A big thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday—even in the rain—to help plant 200+ seedlings. It was muddy, but it was a successful garden day!

We’ll be in the garden this Saturday from 9–11 a.m. Come for as much or as little of the morning as you’d like. We’ll provide gloves, tools, and instructions. 😊

Join us for a FREE Parking Lot “Take Away” Event at Fletcher Place Community Center on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Stop by 1637 Prospect St. in the parking lot behind the building to look through free clothing, shoes, and household items available for our community.
We will also have hot dogs and water.
