Big congratulations 🤩 to our Last Row Party Deadline News Scholarship recipient, Gray Nocjar!

He is a junior from Darnestown, Maryland, though his true home is under the Dome at the University of Notre Dame. He is the editor-in-chief of The Observer, the student newspaper serving the communities of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's and Holy Cross Colleges. He is majoring in electrical engineering with minors in energy studies and the Gallivan Program for Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. He is dedicated to the University, The Observer and "The Distance" by Cake.

🥳 Celebrating our Last Row Party Feature Reporting Scholarship recipient, Samantha Camire!

Samantha is a junior at Indiana University studying journalism with a minor in urban planning and community development. At school, she works for the Indiana Daily Student - idsnews as a breaking news reporter and interns with the Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism. She spent last summer interning with Chalkbeat Indiana and was just selected as a 2026 fellow for the progressive monthly magazine The Nation.

Congratulations to our Last Row Party John Bansch Scholarship for Sports Reporting recipient, Marjorie "Nikki" Stachurski! 👏

She's an upcoming sophomore at the University of Notre Dame, where she serves as an Associate Sports Editor for the tri-campus student-run newspaper The Observer. She headlines the hockey beat for the paper and writes primarily for hockey, men and women's basketball, soccer and football. She is an English and French major at the University of Notre Dame and has a minor in Marketing, and she loves the experience she has been able to gain by covering a variety of different athletic events.

Congratulations to one of our Summer Fellows! 🥳 Kayla will be spending time at FOX59 News and we're so excited to see all the great work she does!

Kayla Campbell is a graduating senior from Butler University pursuing a degree in Journalism with a minor in Creative Media & Entertainment, where she is a Lilly Endowment Scholar and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She currently serves as a Lifestyle Intern at WISH-TV, a Marketing Intern for Butler University Recreation & Wellness, a Social Media Intern for Butler University, and a Creative Specialist for Five Fountains. Previously, she served as Assistant Multimedia Editor for The Butler Collegian and anchored and reported for The Butler Brief. She is passionate about telling stories that elevate underrepresented voices and is excited to continue strengthening her skills as a reporter this summer!
