Please take a moment to look at the attachments from the VFW. They are offering two contests for students with the rewards being money/scholarships.

🎨 There is an Illustrating America Art Contest for grades 1-8 as well as a
🎤 Get Excited for the Red, White and Blue-a National Anthem singing contest for ages 6-16.

Finally, there is a Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award Program. "If you know of a certified/licensed teacher in grades K-12 who promotes civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism are prime candidates for this award. From planning fied trips to City Hall and organizing community volunteer projects, to inviting veterans into the classroom to discuss their military experiences and teachers who foster the development of democratic values and beliefs through unique projects. If you know of a teacher, nominate them today!" 🇺🇸

Military veterans who are looking for a job can attend a special virtual job fair Thursday.

The free job fair is open to all transitioning military personnel, veterans, National Guard members, Reserve members and military spouses.

In light of the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many veterans have been asking questions about what the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and its medical facilities are doing to protect and care for veterans during the outbreak. The House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs is in daily communication with VA leadership and would like to share the following information:
