Today is National Voter Registration Day, and Love in Action is calling on our communities to make our voices count.

Our faith calls us to do more than care about our communities. We are called to show up, speak up, and participate in the decisions that affect our families, our neighborhoods, and our future.

If you’re eligible to vote, register today. Check your registration. Make a plan to vote. And encourage someone else to do the same.

Voting is one way we put civic responsibility into action and use the voice God has given us.

Happy Birthday to our former Presiding Bishop, Bishop Theodore L. Brooks, Sr.!

Today, we honor a leader whose belief in the vision of Love in Action began before there was an organization, a structure, or a fully formed plan. When Love in Action was simply an idea, you saw its potential and believed in what God could do through it.

Your support and covering helped create space for a vision rooted in Micah 6:8: to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. You understood that our faith must move beyond words and become visible through service, advocacy, education, and action.

We are grateful for your willingness to believe in the vision early, to champion its development, and to recognize that the Church has a responsibility to be present where justice, mercy, and human dignity are at stake.

As Love in Action continues to grow, we carry forward the spirit of those early days when all we had was a vision and the faith to believe it could become something greater.

May God continue to bless you, strengthen you, and honor the legacy of leadership and faith you have poured into the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and into Love in Action.

Texas voters, please check your voter registrations. Texas has suspended more than 1.2 Million voter registrations. If you’re one of the people who had their voter registration suspended, there’s still time to fix it.

Take the following steps:

1) Complete a new registration
2) Go online and update your address on texas.gov
3) Call your county registrar to update/confirm your active voter status.

This August, September, and October, Love in Action Social Justice Ministry, Inc. is convening a free three part virtual series to carry our congregations from registration, to understanding, to action, ahead of the November 2026 election. All sessions start at 5:30 pm PST | 7:30 pm CST | 8:30 pm EST

Part One - August 27, 2026: Know Your Power. Register, verify, and update, with special attention to new eighteen year olds and students away at school.

Part Two - September 10, 2026 : Know Your Ballot. Read the whole ballot, including the local offices that shape our schools, our courts, and our neighborhoods.

Part Three - October 15, 2026: Know Your Plan. Build a voting plan you will keep, understand your rights at the polls, and organize turnout in your church.
