In partnership with 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, Beverly Kane serves as a 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗽𝘀 (𝗨𝗦𝗖𝗧), drawing on her deep roots in Indianapolis’s historic Babe Denny neighborhood. A lifelong advocate for community pride and heritage preservation, Beverly still owns her childhood home and remains active in neighborhood reunions. Her lived experience—including the displacement caused by Interstate 70—fuels her passion for preserving history, uncovering community assets, and fostering intergenerational connections that keep neighborhoods vibrant and celebrated.

Today’s lunch meeting with 𝑴𝒓𝒔. 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒏 from Family Bible Church wasn’t just about launching our 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 – 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 — it was a moment to witness local legacy in real time.

Owned by 𝙊𝙢𝙖𝙧 𝙃𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣, a U.S. Navy vet recently back in Indy, it’s more than a restaurant — it’s a 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦. Walk in and it’s lights, camera, action… and everyone’s invited.

He and his wife 𝙍𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖 (also making moves in real estate 🏡) have built something sacred — a “hole-in-the-wall” that flips the script. 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘷𝘪𝘣𝘦𝘴.

We’re working on ways 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵 can help us share our job training efforts — flyers at the counter, conversations over wings, and neighbors connecting over opportunity. That’s 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 in action. 🌱
