Fallen Officer Memorial Fund

Fallen Officer Memorial Fund Ideally, the Fund would never need to be used, but unfortunately that is not the case. The Fallen Officer Memorial Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The Fallen Officer Memorial Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty in Indiana. The Fallen Officer Memorial Fund was created in the early 2000s as a way to support the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Since its inception, the Fund has raised over $35,000 for law

enforcement officers and their families thanks to contributions from businesses and community members alike. Because of the generous donations, the Fund has grown and now provides assistance to law enforcement officers and their families through other difficult times, such as major illness. In 2020, IMPD Officer Breann Leath gave her life responding to a dispatch. The Fund was able to provide immediate funding to her family to help with funeral preparation expenses. We also did something different forher and provided gift cards to East District officers to give out to the community – because it seemed like just the thing Breann would do. The annual Fallen Officer Memorial Fund Golf Outing is organized by Prosecutors and is the largest driver of contributions to the Fund. Contributions from the community are used as door prizes for winners of raffles, the longest drive, and closest to the hole. The outing began in 2004 and allows law enforcement professionals and civilians to come together for a good time and a great cause. The 2019 Golf Outing raised over $4500 for the Fallen Officer Memorial Fund! Any contribution to the Fund is tax deductible.

Today, we honor and remember fallen Beech Grove Police Officer Brian Elliott, who gave his life in the line of duty on Monday, February 16.

Officer Elliott served his community with courage, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. His sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face each day in service to their neighbors, and is the reason why the Fallen Officer Memorial Fund exists today.

As he is laid to rest today at Crown Hill Cemetery, we stand with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters in blue. We are forever grateful for his dedication and for the ultimate sacrifice he made in the name of public safety.

Please keep Officer Elliott’s loved ones and the Beech Grove Police Department in your thoughts and prayers.

We will remember.

We want to thank everybody who came out and made the 2022 Fallen Officer Memorial Fund Golf Outing a huge success. In total, the event raised **$9,500** that will go directly to supporting fallen or injured officers and their families. This is a fundraising record for the fund, and it wouldn't be possible without all of the support from the players and the numerous volunteers--most former prosecutors--who administer the event and the fund. Here are some pictures from the event. We can't wait for next year.
