Today's devotion is from Genesis 18:16-33.
"Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?" God asked this question before revealing his plans to destroy S***m and Gomorrah. This moment reveals something remarkable: God shared his heart with Abraham because of the deep covenant relationship they shared. "The LORD said, 'Because the outcry against S***m and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, I will go down to see.'"
Abraham, knowing his nephew Lot lived in S***m, did not walk away in silence. He drew near to God and began to intercede. "Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?" he asked. With holy boldness, Abraham pressed again and again — from fifty righteous down to ten. Each time, God listened. Each time, God answered with grace.
The wickedness ultimately outweighed the righteousness in that city, and judgment came. Yet God's compassion was still at work — Lot would be saved. Intercession matters.
Walking closely with God means inheriting his heart — a heart that grieves over the lost and moves toward them in prayer. Abraham teaches us that love for family and neighbor drives us to our knees before the throne of grace.
May we be bold intercessors like Abraham. Amen.

Today's devotion is from Genesis 17.
Abraham was ninety-nine years old when God appeared to him and reaffirmed the covenant He had made years before. In this remarkable encounter, God changed Abram's name to Abraham and Sarai's name to Sarah — signaling a new identity rooted in divine promise. God commanded Abraham to circumcise every male in his household as a sign of this covenant, declaring, "I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you." He also announced the impossible: Sarah would bear a son, Isaac. Abraham, ever the practical thinker, "fell on his face and laughed." Sarah, too, found the promise difficult to believe. Yet God's purposes are never thwarted by our disbelief or our age.
This covenant speaks to us today. God calls us to circumcise not our flesh, but our hearts — to cut away pride, doubt, and disobedience. "And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart... so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart." A circumcised heart is a repentant heart, a surrendered heart, a heart that takes God's promises seriously rather than laughing them away.
May we walk faithfully in His ways and inherit every blessing He has promised. Amen.

Today's devotion is from Genesis 16:1–15.
Sarai was without child, and as the years passed, she resorted to a cultural solution — offering her servant Hagar to Abram as a surrogate. Abram complied without question: "Abram listened to the voice of Sarai." When Hagar conceived, tension erupted. Hagar "looked with contempt on her mistress," and Sarai, wounded and angry, dealt with her harshly. Hagar fled into the wilderness — alone, frightened, and unseen.
But God saw her.
An angel found Hagar by a spring and spoke tenderly to her, promising that her son would become a great nation. In that desert moment, Hagar encountered the living God and gave Him a name no one had used before: "You are a God of seeing."She marveled, "Truly here I have seen him who looks after me."
Hagar was a marginalized servant, invisible to the world — yet fully seen by God. Her story reminds us that no one is beyond His gaze. When you feel unheard, dismissed, or forgotten, take courage: "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" He sees you, He knows your affliction, and He will come to your aid in your time of need.
Amen.

Today's devotion is from Genesis 14:17-24.

After Abraham's stunning victory in battle, he was met by Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most High, who blessed him saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth."
Abraham did not claim the glory for himself. He recognized that every victory belongs to God alone. In gratitude, he gave "a tenth of everything."
When God leads us through difficult paths and grants us victory, our first response should be worship and generosity — returning to Him what was always His.
Blessed be His name.

Today's devotion is from Genesis 13.
Abram and Lot faced a practical problem — the land simply could not support both of their growing households. Rather than contend, Abram offered Lot first choice: "Is not the whole land before you? Separate from me."Lot chose the lush Jordan valley. Abram went the other way — no argument, no resentment.
As mentors and leaders, we can follow Abram's example. True generosity means placing others' needs ahead of our own comfort. God has lavished grace upon us without measure. How can we do any less for those entrusted to our care? Amen.

Today's devotion is from John 14:25-26.
“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you."
Jesus had poured much into his disciples — teachings, miracles, and the message of the coming kingdom. Knowing they could not carry it all on their own, he promised them a Helper. The Holy Spirit would bring his words back at precisely the right moment.
That same Spirit is with us today. As we read Scripture, he brings the perfect word — consoling, encouraging, affirming , guiding us when we need it. Thanks be to God!

Today's devotion is from 1 Corinthians 12:4-13.
"There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit...to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."
The Holy Spirit is not a divider — He is the great unifier. Paul reminds us that whether you carry the gift of wisdom, knowledge, healing, prophecy, tongues, interpretation, or discernment, every gift flows from the same Source. "All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills."
The body of Christ is not a competition. It is a collaboration. Your gift is not greater than mine, and mine is not lesser than yours. Together, we become the finely tuned instrument God designed to fulfill His purpose on this earth.
Today, fan the flame. Notice the gifts in your community. Celebrate them. Encourage them. "For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body."
May the Spirit unite us. Amen.

Today's devotion is from 1 Corinthians 12:1-3.
"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says 'Jesus is accursed!' and no one can say 'Jesus is Lord' except in the Holy Spirit."
Paul wrote to the congregation he established, speaking to them about the Holy Spirit and His effects on us. He reminded them that when they had the Holy Spirit, they could not curse Jesus but could only declare Jesus is Lord.
We are reminded today that as believers, we have the Holy Ghost that connects us to the spiritual truths comprehended by God alone. When we allow the Spirit to work in our lives, we let God take over. Let us not walk in our own strength, but give complete control to the Holy Spirit so we can live in the power of God. Amen.
