The Southport Police Department is seeking dedicated individuals to serve their community as Reserve Police Officers and be part of our mission of Service Through Community Policing.
This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable law enforcement experience while making a meaningful impact in Southport. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, be a U.S. citizen, hold a valid driver’s license, and have no felony or domestic violence convictions; prior military service must be honorably discharged if applicable.
Reserve officers benefit from opportunities such as approved off-duty employment after probation, an annual uniform allowance, a city-paid legal defense fund, specialized assignments including FTO, Detective, ERT, K9, and Bike Patrol, as well as options for a take-home vehicle, outer carrier, and red dot handgun training.
