The Indiana Mental Health Roundtable will host its annual Summit on August 7 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.

This year’s theme, Supporting Those Who Serve, highlights the importance of mental health support for service members, veterans, police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, and EMTs.

The summit will bring together frontline responders, healthcare leaders, policymakers, employers, and advocates to share ideas, build connections, and strengthen mental health resources for Hoosiers across Indiana.

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, this summit is an important opportunity to continue the conversation and support those who serve our communities every day.

Today, we honor Juneteenth - the day in 1865 when news of freedom finally reached our fellow citizens in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Juneteenth is a time to celebrate freedom, reflect on our shared history, and recommit ourselves to building a future that is more just, inclusive, and equitable for everyone.

LaPorte Fire Fighters Local 363 members rescued one person from a residence fire on Thursday morning.

LaPorte City Fire Department crews arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Neighbors told fire fighters that someone might still be inside. Crews immediately began a search, located the victim, and safely removed them from the house within minutes of arriving on scene. The victim was airlifted to a regional specialty center for treatment.

Outstanding work by these Local 363 members. Their courage, skill, and bravery made a life-saving difference.

Supporting the health and safety of our members remains a top priority for the Professional Fire Fighters Union of Indiana and the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Friday evening, Noblesville Professional Fire Fighters Local 4416 and the Noblesville Fire Department hosted its annual awards and recognition banquet at the Riverview Health Arena. The program honored fire fighters, paramedics, and EMTS and for their exceptional service over the past year, recognizing acts of bravery, leadership, and unwavering dedication to protecting the community.

Thank you to Noblesville Fire Department Fire Chief Matt Mitchell and Hamilton County Fire Fighters Local 4416 President Jim Butt for inviting President Tony Murray to give remarks and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the professional fire fighters and paramedics who protect the citizens of Noblesville.
