šŸ˜Available for adoption!šŸ˜

Meet Raymond! This sweet older gentleman is with Click Treat Repeat getting training and some one-on-one time out of the stressful shelter. Staff and volunteers were getting worried about his stress levels when his behavior started to deteriorate.

Raymond is 6 years old and weighs 67 pounds. He's very food motivated and housebroken and has been a great guest for his trainer at Click Treat Repeat! This lovely boy enjoys long walks and lounging in the sun. He absolutely loves people and we'd love to find him a soft place to land and a forever family to cuddle with for the holidays.

If you're interested in learning more about Raymond or setting up a meet and greet at Indianapolis Animal Care Services please email [email protected]

We are so thankful for our continued supporters. Even though we are not current pulling dogs into the rescue, we use donated funds to help Indianapolis shelter animals.

We recently received a generous $500 donation from Indiana Donor Network in memory of Chris Curry and his pup Mercedes. Chris was the proud owner of his two pit bulls - Gizmo and Mercedes (who also recently passed).

We are proud to honor Chris's memory and love of pit bulls by donating an additional $350 to Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services to sponsor a two-week Lodge and Learn session with Paws & Play Dog Resort & Training Center for an Indianapolis Animal Care Services shelter pit bull.

On behalf of all of the shelter pit bulls in need thanks for all of your support!

ā„ļø Cold Weather Reminder ā„ļø

With dangerously cold temperatures forecasted throughout this weekend and into next week, Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) wants residents to keep in mind the effects cold temperatures can have on our pets. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia and should be kept inside. Longer-haired and thick-coated dog breeds, such as huskies and other dogs bred for colder climates, are more tolerant of cold weather. Still, no pet should be left outside for long periods in below-freezing weather.

It is against city-county ordinance (Sec. 531-401) to leave animals outside when the temperatures are at or below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, OR, if a wind chill advisory has been issued for the City. You could face fines or criminal charges if you fail to properly care for your pets in cold weather.

Happy New Year! Here’s to 2021 giving us the chance to dare greatly and do great things.
